It depends on the "God". A "God" that could listen to a prayer and could do something about would, I should think, have a moral obligation to answer a worthy prayer.
Wasn't the last Seinfeld episode based on a municipal law that obliged every citizen to come to the aid of somebody in distress? I just don't see "God" in that jail with Kramer and George and Elaine. Was Larry David an incarnation of "God"? I have to think about that, later. Much later.
On the other hand, wasn't it Saint Therese of Lisieux who said that answered prayers bring more human tears than those unanswered? Be careful what you ask for; you may get it in the end.
The "God" of Thomas Jefferson, Tom Paine, and many of the other Founding Fathers was not that kind of a "God". Theirs was a watchmaker "God", who wound up the Universe like a clock, made sure it was ticking, put it on a shelf, and never looked at it again. I wish he had made a better clock. This one is ticking poorly.

Yes. There is a reason for this.
Basically, Satan coaxed mankind into telling God that they know better than He what is best for them. Mankind is learning that they do not have the capacity to govern themselves in a manner that benefits all, and does not victimize the innocent.
It is written that upon His return, God shall set up His kingdom to rule over the Earth and all of the man made kingdoms will be done away with. For there shall be a new heavens and a new Earth, and the former shall be no more.
It is this promise, above all others, that believers eagerly await. Until His Kingdom comes, and His will be done, on Earth, mankind is as a rebellious teen who has run away from home. While away, the rebellious teen suffers far more hardships that otherwise could have been avoided, had the teen only listened to his loving parent.

I feel it is headed for destruction. Reason is what I see on the news every day is already predicted in the Bible. 2 Timothy 3 Perilous Times and Perilous Men 3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. The world was uncivilized in the old days. Particularly in the Middle East. And it was said that God send many prophets to make people good, and believe in Him.
This world still suffers from many ills. God will not say or do anything. It is said that if this world suffers increasing injustice, war and all the likes; Judgement Day will come.

God is creator, he will not be silent forever. God sees the atrocities, he sees them all, he feels every bit but he does not interfere with the free will he gave, but he does make everything right in his way. Gods ways are not the ways of men, he does not do as men do, think as men think. The real question is who are you and by what authority do you question your creator, God?

first off... God is not a "he"...... there is no penis, and there are no testicles....
God IS the universe... all of it. The good and the bad.
You need to open your mind to experience God, and you can't do that by reading the bible (or any other book).
You need to die to experience God.. I've died, and i'll gladly take a polygraph to attest to that.. (ask your local church if they'll take a lie-detector test).
God IS the atrocities of the world... he is the blood that leaks from a murder victims wound... he is the joy that spills from a birthday party. God is all of it...
The real myth is the "devil"... made up by men who require obedience...
I can say with no fear, that the devil can kiss my ***. I don't fear hell, as there is no such thing...
God truly is good, and would not send any of his inventions to hell..
but you'll need to die in order to see what i've seen.

God is infinite, which means he is outside of time. He has no end or beginning.
Now.....we have finite minds. Therefore, we cannot possibly understand his "way of thinking."
He sees atrocities differently the we do. Sometimes an atrocity has too occur in order to for things to progress and/or to serve another purpose.
Good and evil, hot and cold, up and down, pain and pleasure,
it's all really part of the same thing.

He has made all the necessary arrangements for us to regain what we lost at the begining, and live everlastingly, on a peaceful Earth, as He intended. In the meantime, we have to persevere, until He makes everything new again.
