I'm just wondering if this is weird. I am 18 and see no purpose in dating because I don't plan on being married until I am at least 26. Should I start dating even though I see no point?

I think it's fine. I don't see why you need to. You probably just have not found a "special guy" yet.

So just take life as it comes; you seem mature enough to handle dating when it comes as you are not just dating for the sake of having a boyfriend.

Good luck, God bless,

No, there is nothing wrong with that. Who says dating is compulsory? Only do it if you enjoy it. Maybe give it a go and see if you like it? You don't have to rush to find dates, but if you do get asked out, maybe see where it goes, yeah? Don't turn them down just for the sake.

It's not strange though. I wasn't really dating at 18 and neither were my friends, in fact most are still not dating now a couple of years on. It can cause a lot of problems. Then again it is always good to get experience. if you have an idea of the kind of men out there, you will be better prepared when you do end up "finding" a guy to marry. You can also pick up social skills, improve confidence and, uh...have "fun"! But that doesn't have to be "dating", just hanging with guys I guess or maybe going out a bit.

I say yes u should at least date to gain social skills of how to interact with the opposite sex. Heck you may find a man that wants to date for 8 yrs before getting married. Dont put ur future so far out there, get started now so u have all the tools u need later in life. No need to go head strong and need a date evry weekend, but dont say no to guys in class who want to hang out and take you out.

I wouldn't. I am kinda the same way. Lookit, the best thing is to meet the person you wanna be with randomly. Granted, dating gives you experience as far as you learn more about yourself and what you like/dislike in a person, but if you don't have a desire to do it, don't do it. Don't feel you have to do something like that if it's not what's in you. It'll all come together in good time. Meanwhile, enjoy the time you are single. I do that every day! :)

no..enjoy where you are at..dont feel pressured to do anything..you're still young..im a decade older than you and i have not dated much..i want a relationship but im tryin to take it a day at a time..dont feel so pressured to find someone, there's a lot of pressure on young single people to date..dont give in to that till you are ready for it.

I'm 28 and I've never been on a date. Dating is BS

That's pretty smart. It's best to get married when you're out of college and financially stable.
