A couple days ago, I woke up because I had thrown up in my mouth, I didn't think anything of it. It happened again last night. I've been eating later because of my work hours and just started a new job last Monday, so things are kind of stressful. Today, I felt like crap all day, my stomach hurt and I felt like I constantly had to go to the bathroom(#2). I just came off of 10 days Ammox. for strep throat. Is any of this connected?

Thanks everyone. I really don't think it's acid reflux, I think its a combination of stress, ending the ammoxicillian and my period ending. I'm going to see how the next couple of days go before I really consider going to the doctor.

I am not a doctor, so either way you will want to talk to them, but this is what I have to say as a long time sufferer of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.)!
Three part answer information, what not to do, and what to do!
INFORMATION!!!!!!
I have a very severe case of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.). I have had to go to the hospital for some of the heartburn that I have had because the pain can become overwhelming or your breathing can be effected. It can be caused by Smoking, Drinking Beverages with caffeine (My case), Drinking Beverages with Alcohol, or can be Hereditary
The good thing about G.E.R.D. is that it can be a temporary thing and can be cured. It is never a permit thing even if you end up with it for the rest of your life it has the ability to be cured.
WHAT NOT TO DO!!!!!!!!
In most cases, stress is a factor to the reflux if you watch what you eat and reduce some of the stress it will help. If you watch what you eat for about a week you should find relief, if you do not then that is when you definitely what to listen to the doctor. Things to watch for are as follows:
Fatty Foods
Citrus Foods
Foods That Contain Grease
Fried Foods
Chocolate (including any Coco)
Caffeine
Smoking
Alcohol
Tomato Based Products
Lactose
WHAT TO DO!!!!
The two foods that I recommend is Black strap Molasses and Raw honey. The apple is better for night time reflux while these will work for just about all of it. What you will do is take about a tsp. of whatever one you chose. Molasses being the better because of strength and nutrition, but must be use to the taste. What the substance will do is stick to the sides of the esophagus and do two things, one is heal and the other is protect.
On the healing end, both substances have a healing property in them, and as they sit on the walls of the esophagus they will heal it. This is also helpful if you have a sore throat in the morning from refluxing.
On the protection end, both substances are high in sugar and when acid that is refluxed comes up to that the sugar will neutralize it and it will not longer be a problem at that point.
I would also look to putting Cinnamon in you diet, it has been know to help with digestion and will help you reduce the amount of acid needed to brake down food, therefore causing you to reflux less.

I suffer from reflux so know this problem well!
You could be suffering from a condition known as GURD(Gastro intestinal reflux decease) where the stomach produces more acid than normal. The way to combat this is by taking some medication such as Gaviscon which neutralises the acid.It is available over the counter so no doctor required.Take as pharmacist prescribes.
You could also on the other hand have the beginning of an ulcer! You do not mention to much pain which is a good sign but i would keep an eye on this and perhaps if the condition persists go for a gastroscope where they will have a look into your stomach and duodenum with a camera.(Very simple procedure with no risk...i have had at least 6 times).
Another medication you could ask about is Nexium which actually acts to stop the stomach from producing acid. You will need a prescription for this though so discuss with your doctor.Works brilliantly though!
Also do not eat just before you sleep and only eat small meals more often until you feel better.
Make sure you do net see any blood in your stools as this would be a sign of a bleeding ulcer requiring immediate medical attention.
Get well soon!

It could be a sign of acid reflux. Have your doctor check you out for it. It could also be a reaction from your other medicine, but I would think you would've seen a reaction right after you started treatment.
If it is acid reflux, your doctor can put you on Prilosec or they'll just have you take the over the counter version of the drug to see if that helps.

You should ask your doctor that and then come back and tell us because now you have us curious. I dream when I over eat (I no longer have acid reflux) so it seems reasonable to think that way.

Yes, it could be the medication. And it could be acid reflux, though this would not affect how often you go to the bathroom. Sometimes stress can cause stomach probelms, also. You should talk to your doctor about this.

Yes, there is a connection. Anti-biotics mess w/ your body's chemistry that maintain your health. You need to balance your acid level. Drink a glass of water w/ a table spoon of baking soda to help. This really works, even better than anti-acid pills because the effect is much longer. Tastes kind of salty & nasty, but it really works.
Also, to help get completely back to where your body needs to be, try probiotocs from the health food store. Something like Culterella (sp). Helps to get the right bacteria & stuff in your gut to help w/ digestion & nutrition.
Hope you feel better soon!

Ask your doctor, yeah I have acid reflex and I received it from some medicine I was on prior to that. My doctor prescribed me Zegrid and it works really good. It's a acid reflex medicine with an an-acid in it.
