Found an abandoned kitten yesterday and have been bottle feeding her kitten formula for two days. The Lable says to rub the belly and genitailia to help the kitten's bowels to move. How long should i do that before she can potty on her own?

Rub cotton balls (or soft rag) with a little warm water up and down the belly all the way to the rectum. The stimulation feels like the moms tongue. You will have to do this until the kitten learns to use a litter box. I have 5 kittens that are now 4 weeks old and I have just introduced the litter box to them. One of the kittens has it down but the others are slowly getting the hang of it so I still do the stimulation thing before I feed them their bottle. I also have started introducing wet food by mixing it with the kitten formula and allowing the kittens to try and lap it up. They will be on the bottle still for at least another 1-2 weeks. I expect them to be litter box trained within the next week. I am fostering the kittens for our local Humane Society and have had them for 2 weeks now. Good luck with your kitten.

The momma cat licks the area to help them go potty. You'll need a soft bit of cotton, or a Q-tip, dipped in warm (NOT HOT) water. Rub her tummy with one finger, gently please, and gently rub the genitalia with the cotton or Q-tip. Holding her gently over the toilet, or a garbage makes clean up a lot easier. You'll be doing this until about the time she starts to walk. Be sure to do this shortly after every feeding. Give that little one a lot of love and kindness and you'll have a wonderful pet. The sooner they learn that human hands mean warmth, gentleness, and love the better. Good luck, and God will bless you for taking care of one of His little ones!

To stimulate a kitten get a warm washcloth and wipe genitals until it goes to the bathroom. That imitates the mother licking the genitals

You have to keep doing it until you find out that she goes and pees on her own. Usually they start at week 5.

Son, please put down the kitten and walk away, the kitten will go when it is ready and if not you need to use a wet paper towel to get it to go. Good luck.
