I have six pack abs but technically it kind of looks like a seven pack. My right side has 3 normal ones. My left side has a little one on the top. It kind of makes my abs look uneven. Anyways, in the past, I would get a cramp in my ab muscle. The seventh pack(the left top one) would cramp up and it would pertrude and stick way out.
It doesn't happen often, but it happened today and I had to turn on my stomach and just stretch it out like crazy. More than the usual cramps that I got in the past.
Anyone know what this could be?
A hernia?
Please help me.

I would get checked out for a hernia. An abdominal CT with contrast will generally show it if it is. When a hernia becomes 'strangulated' (the loop of intestine pushes out through the tear in the abdominal wall) it stops or slows the movement of the 'stuff' in it. This causes pain (sometimes very severe) and the trapped gas/bowels not being emptied feeling. Sometimes the loop can stay out and show as a bulge. It can 'reduce' (go back in) by itself sometimes, sometimes it can be pushed back in and the pain passes and leaves an ache for a few days. If the loop does not go back in and becomes fully 'strangulated' it can be fatal. The loop of intestine loses its blood supply and very quickly becomes necrotic. If it's not corrected surgically quickly it can become gangrenous and kill you. (Not trying to be a fear monger, but it can be very serious.) Hernias may or may not be able to be felt/seen externally. If you push as though you are trying to have a bowel movement and you see the bulge get bigger it's defiantly a hernia. The surgery is fairly simple, usually done outpatient and recovery time is fairly quick, although your lifting will be limited for a few weeks.

What you are describing sounds very much like a hernia. You need to see a doctor and get it checked. It can easily twist, and if that happens you can get a "torsion" which can cause a portion of your intestine to die, or "necrose". This will result in your requiring surgery to remove the ead bowel, and quite possibly having a colostomy, which can be temporary or permanent. See a doc, and if you need surgery, get it done and don't overdo your workouts until you are cleared and have finished physical therapy..

Something doesn't sound right. I'd almost guess it's a hernia, but I don't know. If it bothers you that much, you should see a doctor and have them look at your muscles. If it's a hernia, I believe they can operate on it to remove it.
