Interesting question (and I like the terminology)...

It is one of two things:
1. Adultery if the person is still married to his wife in the eyes of God (the State of [insert state here] does NOT work for God so just because they recognize it doesn't mean God does)!
2. Fornication if the person is legitimately divorced in the eyes of God.

The way I see it, God warned us about the dangers of sexual activity between any people that have not become "one flesh" through a lifetime, monogamous marriage. Anything else is covered under the broad heading of "sexual immorality"...and in the case of sex with a girlfriend, specifically one of the two above.

How can anyone deny the possible physical (e.g., STDs), emotional, and psychological consequences of sexual immorality. If a person wants to mess around with those consequences that is his or her choice, but I can personally attest to the consequences of unplanned pregnancy, emotional distress, and even depression following my own experiences with post-marital sex.

I thank God that through his grace we can all be forgiven of the eternal consequences of sexual sins, and I certainly understand how strong the temptation can be to give in to our desires or to try to rationalize that what we are doing isn't really wrong "because...". but only obedience can assure your protection from the harmful and sometimes even deadly earthly consequences of any form of sexual immorality.

Oh, I thought you were asking about people having sex after they'd been married a number of years- I was going to say - it declines, it declines.

As with the other answer, I say it is purely a personal choice and up to the individual.

My understanding is that divorce is allowed in the case of adultery. Any other reason means that the divorced person is committing adultery which is against one of the Ten Commandments. Of course, this is completely overlooked by those who use the Bible to promote homophobia. They have the special right to discriminate in the real world and pick and choose from Scripture!

I woudn't have had sex, first I don't believe that after divorce you should get married again or a gf again, because of what I read in the bible, I understand things don't work out but still I would never want to get divorced. So if I was in that situation, I don't know its a sin but you have already commited a sin, I wouldn't do it though.

Sex is natural, sex is good, sex between two consenting adults is 1) okay with me and 2) none of my bloody business.

Oh, I was going to say that post-marital sex is fairly non-existant.

I think safe sex is good whenever I can get it. We are animals, we have animal instincts, when people start trying to deny their natural instincts they start to become emotionally unbalanced and do sick things like molest little boys.
