BBQ for sure.

Corn on the cob. (boil the ears for three minutes, serve with salt and butter)

Cole slaw (a little more vinegar, a little less sugar)

Baked beans. (the real kind - molassas, ketchup, a touch of mustard, sweet onions - slooooow baked in a 325º oven)

Corn bread (fried corn bread is the best. spoonfuls on a hot cast iron skillet, turn when it bubbles)

Mixed turnip and mustard greens (toss a couple of strips of bacon in the pan - umm umm umm)

Sweet iced tea served in Mason jars

Pecan pie for dessert

Offer a combination of meat choices. Possibly smoked sausage and chicken breasts cooked on the grill. Baked beans, cole slaw, corn on the cob, fruit salad, and rolls. Be sure to offer onions, peppers, pickles, and extra barbecue sauce. If you prefer, substitute a large green salad for the cole slaw. Dessert can either be a choice of cold, creamy chocolate and lemon meringue pies or a hot fruit cobbler. Iced tea, iced water, lemonade, soft drinks, and beer are the usual drinks offered at a BBQ.

Baked beans, cole slaw, steak or chicken brest. All turkey burgers and franks for the kids. Chips and salsa. Fruit chunks or veggie platter with dips. Corn on the cob, quattered potatoes, carrots or whole onions, buttered, wrapped in foil and cooked on the grill. Sorbet or sherbet served in wine glasses with a little whipped cream on top. Arnold Palmers: Iced tea with lemonade added to taste.
