I'm with you on this, some religious people are very creepy and scary.
And some of them are in politics
scarier still - some of them are in education, influencing the thoughts and minds of the next generation.

You are pretty creepy and freak me out. You feel threatened because you have determined all religious people are freaky and not the thing in your life. Well, can you go out and murder people, without someone putting your little behind in prison? Same thing, there are rules for everything. The bible says,Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That is not that hard to live by,and basically you are living it now anyway with the rules of our land. Religious people are just excited because they have a special feeling of being saved and getting to go to Heaven. If you think this is silly, or creepy, just look in the mirror and ask yourself just one question and by all means try to come up with an answer before condemning everyone, and that is "How did I get here", when you figure out how you could come from nothing at all into something as complex as the human body, you will be on your way. Eternal life, limitless universe, look up and ask yourself, where is the end ? This is in front of you and not made up.... do you have these answers? The answer is God, the Master Engineer. Regardless if you believe it or not, does not matter, the truth always is hard to accept, but it is the truth, unless, of course, you have another answer.

That's interesting tho I disagree somewhat while I am not religious due to an irrational fear of being damned to Hell if I become a church goer. I think that there are some nice religious folks out there it's the bible thumpers rolling round in the aisles speaking in tongues that I am scared of. The rest are fine sheesh God forbid i should judge someone based on their beliefs. And yes if you haven't seen Jesus Camp check it out it's crazy.

I agree that there are few things creepier than a religious person who has lost all sense of reality and rambles on about eternal damnation for non-believers.
Yet, the creepy and weird aspects of their character are compelling. Like a Stephen King book. So I keep reading.

I work for a charity & a polling organization, here's a few of the doors I've knocked on:

I met a pro-life fundie who asked me once "if we allow abortion, who will fight our wars?". I didn't have the heart to tell her I was a lifelong pacifist and a member of the war resisters league.

Another time I was told by a fundie that education was of the utmost importance, when I asked what specifically needed change, she said blushing, "Those Heather has two mommies books". Again I held my tongue because I'm Gay & have a lot of relatives in teaching.

I know, it's like keep it to yourself.
One Q that you answered was like "I don't get Matthew 6:7-9"
And one girl said...

"We should not say prayers in public for the sake of being heard and to show that we pray..."

I mean seriously do really need to know everyones religion, because I could care less, I believe in what I believe in and yeah thats cool other people believe in other things, but I could care less.

Yeah I know.

It's totally nutz. Lets take a look at some of the crazy ideas, shall we?

"Honor one another above yourselves."- Romans 12:10

"Accept one another... just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."- Romans 15:7

"If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink."- Proverbs 25:21

"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully abuse you and persecute you."- Matthew 5:44

"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."- Colossians 3:13

"The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."- Galatians 5:6

"Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did."- 1 John 2:6

No...since I don't know you, I didn't know this about you. Thanks for sharing. I've had some really creeped out moments myself. It's a bizarre feeling when you are around someone who believes insane crap. My mother-in-law was the first person who actually made the hair on the back of my head stand on end. She came over one day to tell me that God spoke to her...really spoke to her in a man's voice...and told her to come tell me that I was not being a good wife because I complained that my husband wasn't helping around the house enough. The look on her face reminded me of Jack Nicholson in "The Shining". "Heeeeere's Johnny!"

It's not the normal Christians it's the weird ones who say something where you just have to nod your head and say, ah really? because you know they are so far gone you can't even reason with them. Like have you seen Jesus camp. She is making weird sounds and they are rolling around on the ground. WHAT THE ****?

Naw. It's not the way they "act" for me. It's the fact that they toss rational thought to the wind, and believe that some supernatural imaginary friend will annul laws of the universe on their behalf if they ask him to... but only if they follow some silly laws written down by men 3000 years ago.
