Could it be that I know deep down inside that if I was born in a Christian/Jewish/pagan home, I too would have become an atheist like so many others, because those religions are totally faith-based, whereas in Islam rationality is as important as faith.

I also happen to know one or two Muslims who became atheists, but their reasons had more to do with the attitudes or hypocrisy of Muslims rather than disagreement over core religious beliefs. As compared to Christians/Jews, very few Muslims become atheists, even in the West where there is so much freedom.

It seems that Christians and Jews who become atheists are mostly negatively influenced by incoherence of basic Christian/Jewish beliefs [God created the Earth 6000 years ago, Trinity, immorality of Old Testament figures, and improvised interpretations of the Book of Revelations, Jesus "saving" people no matter evils things they do as long as they find Jesus in the end, etc].

HOLD IT! All right! Perhaps "sympathy" was the wrong word. How about "understanding?"

Assalamu-A'laekum

My dear brother,

I totally understand what you mean over here, I really don't want to loose one of my Muslim brother. Wallahi I really mean it.
Faith in Islam is alive as the religion is alive not dead like Christianity and Jews. Allah swt. has gradually completed this religion through series of up-gradations and refinement by 124,000 Prophets and Messengers according to the growth level of the collective human mind time to time.
So only valid and updated for rest of all times and ages religion is Islam, and you and me are Muslims alHamdulillah. Other religions are not only no more effective but dangerous like an expired medicine.
I'm an Architect, working as consultant for last 18 years and I'm son of a teacher as well, so I think I have enough qualification to advise someone, I can answer your queries in both religious and scientific way, as I'm a person who has discovered the basic root that is further branched into religion and science, actually Islam is the religion that can answer all scientific and all other fields of life, questions at the same time.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CONFUSION YOU MAY SEND ME YOUR WRITE UP BY MAIL AND I WOULD BE PLEASED TO ANSWER YOU IN BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES, INSHA'ALLAH, BY THE GRACE ALLAH SWT.

Sorry to hear about your mental illness.

I did like the part about Islam being based on rationality. I've always said it was a virus program written to use human beings as carriers, in order to attain political power. Good to see I was on the right track. Very "rational" indeed.

Perhaps the reason so few islamics sucessfully make the transition to becoming recognized atheists is because your dogma requires killing them? Just a thought....but that sort of exit plan would definitely make most folks keep their mouths shut about what they really believe.

Nice smear job on the old religions though.

You might want to look into why your prophet perferred underdeveloped girls and young boys as sex partners....or maybe not.

His absolute concern with material wealth gained through conquest always brought a smile to my face, at least he was an honest money-grubber.

It's a shame though that one of the people he murdered on his rise to power couldn't have fought back just a little harder, and saved the world a great deal of grief. Instead it gets left up to us to decide what to do about Islam, and the dimwits who practice it.

No, I'm not a christian, or a jew, or an atheist. If we ever meet you can ask me my personal spiritual belief, but you better talk fast.....you won't have much time.

Following verses tell us that The Almighty God knows the nature of unbelievers.

Quran 2:6-13.

"6. As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.
7. Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur).
8. Of the people there are some who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day;" but they do not (really) believe.
9. Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not!
10. In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).
11. When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!"
12. Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realise (it) not.
13. When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know."

I wonder if we can help them untill they change their nature!!

Brother! We feel sympathy for the sake of brotherhood, for all un-believers because we have the trust & confidence in the spiritual blessings from 124,000 prophets of God. The witnesses of such a huge number are sufficient proof of the existance of God!

We also know the second life in soon ahead so should think about the deeds and salvation.

God Blessings!

Zero Cool said atheists don't need your sympathy.
I have a question for you. Why are you critical of Christians and Jews? Yet you don't seem to lift a voice in condemnation of atheism. What does your Quran say about atheism?

Maybe also because - when is the last time you've seen an Atheist engage in hate speak about Muslims?

You tend to have sympathy toward the group that hates you the least or not at all, even if your beliefs differ.

What's your basis for trusting that info or for trusting the Egyptian foreign minister or the source that you link to? I can find no support for the claim that Obama said that except on right-wing websites, the sort of sites that basically don't trust a black man as president.

I think the low conversion of Muslim to atheism is strictly based out of fear. You want to fit in, so you stay with Muslim.

Most people born into religions don't think. They just follow what their parents gave them and think it is correct.

Aside from deity I find some of my Muslim acquaintances
more attuned to my morality than public opinion would denote but they are modern and take their own slant on it .

You are sympathetic to atheists because you have a lot in common with them...not knowing God. Oh, and you certainly don't understand Christianity either.

God Bless.

Hmmm...I've never had a problem with Muslims before...
That negative stereotype about terrorism is simply BS. As long as you don't go preaching we shouldn't have any problems....
