How much money is wasted on government corruption, just in the US alone?
Yes, much money is wasted on religion, but why stop there?
What about money wasted on other things?
How about gas guzzling SUVs?
What about how much money is wasted by those who buy on credit? when waiting to have the cash would save consumers trillions of dollars?
I know of at least one religion that does not waste it's money at all. By utilizing volunteers, they maintain all the own religious grounds, build all their own structures, and even do not have salaried preachers.

I would say into the billions every year. My father in law alone puts a 50 dollar bill in the collection plate every week. Back when he had more money he used to drop a 100. Millions of people go to church and most of them put money into the collection plate if only a few cents at a time. It all adds up. Religion is the biggest scam. All that money people donate goes to paying for the preachers house and car payment, as well as paying for the food on his plate. "Their God" doesn't see a cent of that money.

Thats a toughie!
Lets start with Faith Based Initiatives....
Now as for tithe, that is paid at the discretion of those paying it. That isnt wasteful, thats proprietary.

lets first start by calculating how much money you are waisting on religion by having your computer on asking this question...then go from there
and none of these people would know they would have to first ask every person how much they pay to their tithes each week first...and thats just for the christians....not to mention the others

Who appointed you the judge of what constitutes "wasted"? And whose money are we talking about? Probably none of your money was involved at any rate, so why should it concern you what I do with my, or anyone else does with their, money?

Multi-billion dollars for sure.
And they use around $1 million out of that for charity and brag about being so humble donors of that particular religion.
