I recently had a sore throat that turned into a cold. And now I have phlegm in my throat but i can't simply cough it up (it feels like it decided it's going to stay this time). I did buy some medicine today, but I was wondering if there's anything extra I could do to make it go away, like eat/drink certain stuff ect.

The over the counter cough expectorant called "Muscinex" is wonderful. It is very helpful. You can take vitamin C. That helps boost the immune system. Vicks vapor rub can also help sooth the irritation in the nose and discomfort with breathing. Take care of yourself, that's important.

Lots of warm liquids. Buy an over the counter expectorant like Mucilex. You WILL cough it up!

anything hot like soup or tea with normally loosen it up some. I've also heard that honey and lemon are good.

I like Mucinex. It breaks up the phlem so you can cough it up.
