consult with an attorney (free) or go to the local law enforcement office and ask. They will do their best to answer with info you can provide. They may want to persue the matter.

If it's on paper, its possible that he can get at least some of the money back. Mentally Disabled people's signatures on documents are for all intensive purposes void if there isn't a mentally "abled" person signing it.

Be honest your family is not a taxi service. Tell them that the expense of petrol is costing to much for your family to be running around after them. I would sack of user friends like this because they are just taking the p*ss. I get really angry with people who do not say thank you after having a free lift somewhere manners cost nothing ungrateful little sh*ts

Find out who his "payee" is. I'm sure he has one. Probably the woman in question. He Has A VERY GOOD CASE against the woman for defrauding him out of his money. Call human resources or Social Security and report her now.

He's out of luck.
If he has a checking account and made the mistake of writing out a blank check to someone, he's sunk.
If, however, the woman did actually CHANGE the amount on the check (or to whom the check was written), then that's fraud.

If he can prove that he has this mental disability then he probably does have a case cause I think that's wrong taking advantage of someone that can't think for themself.

he could have a serious case against this chick, but he would have to want to press charges against her. if he wants to, get a lawyer that specializes in mentally disabled cases.
