Three years isn't really that big of a difference unless you are terribly immature. I hate to tell you this, but that may not be the real reason that she doesn't want too date you. It sounds as if she's just trying to let you down easy, without hurting your feelings.
Call her on the fact that it's only three years, see if she'll elaborate more as to why it's such a big deal.

theres really nothing that you can do... lots of people have their mindset on what their standards to a relationship is. She sounds like one of these people.
Let her know that there are many people who have a wide age gap. 3 years aint nothing. lol.
My own parents have a 18 year age gap between them, and me and my boyfriend have a 4 1/2 year age gap between us.
She admits that she likes you... so I suggest either giving it up or keep being friends with her and be patient and she may one day decide that the age gap is really nothing at all.

I hope if you love each other that you can change her mind as 3 years means absolutely nothing....if two people love each other they can overcome age differences and all things..good luck to you!

Don't give up then mate. If she has any feelings for you, age shouldn't come into it. Keep trying, just be yourself. And most of all, have fun.....
