this one would be a much better choice - I would go with the .22(MV-1150fps)

.177(MV-1450fps) .22(MV-1315fps)
Unfortunately not every nation on Earth enjoys the freedoms we do in the USA. They are forced to use air guns. Would a center fire .22 caliber rifle be a better choice, you bet, he does not have that option.

They are a Spanish make, so you might as well order from Europe. Gamo are discontinuing the 1250 too, so you'll have to be quick.
Would it kill a cat at 60 yards? That's quite a long way for an air gun. A 177 makes a pretty small hole, it's not a good way to kill a cat. You really need to get closer.

Never shot a Hog with one. I have shot 25+ Coons and dropped every one with 1 shot. The side of the head or under it's head if it's up a tree. Possums are easy to kill that way too , I've killed 6. They give a little quiver and lights out. 1200 FPS Daisy Powerline for a few years and now a 1400 FPS Gamo Big Cat. I use the 5 Gr pellets with the Copper BB up front. I wouldn't try a Hog, except point blank to side of head if it was suffering from the .308 hit.

A accurate, humanly, placed shot at 60 yards will be quite a
shot to do with a .177, especially on a cat. A 1250 will have
the distance, but not the dropping power. The only air rifle
with that kind of killing power at that kind of distance would be
a PCP. A pre charged pneumatic, they defiantly have the range and power for that kind of a shot. I wouldn't try it with any other type of air rifle, not unless the range is dramatically shorter. If the range is between 20-30 yards, a good .22 would be my choice for that distance, being that it would produce more energy on impact, in turn producing more damage. My choice for taking out a small animal at that kind of range would be a HW80. It's a Weihrauch rifle, in stock form it can produce 16-18 fpe in .22 caliber, depending on what type and weight of pellet. I've had mine tuned by a professional air gunsmith and now shoots pellets in the 19-20 fpe range. I've made kills on jackrabbits at 70 yards out with a head shot, I used a laser range finder to check distance before I made the shot.
Here's a suggestion, this is a link to Blackpool air rifles.

They're located in England, the British are know for they're air guns. Get in contact with them and see if they can tune a rifle for you. Spend the money now, and you won't have to worry about spending more later.

I still think 60 yards is too far out to humanely kill even a house cat with an air rifle. When I've had to kill feral cats I've used a .22 Long Rifle. Not something I enjoy doing, just a... Necessary evil.
Best.
