how do you make the picture sepia toned, but keep object(s) the same color?

please include step by step instructions [:

well i already have it all sepia toned( so don't teach me that); but i wanna no how to keep the object(s) the same color.

use the lasso tool to border the part(s) that u dont want to change. if it is more than one part, press shift while making the line around the objects.then click select, inverse. Change the area to sephia [u said u already know how to do it,so...]

Dr. Sam should probably have mentioned that this is the quick way to do it and that there are many other and more flexible ways than the eraser tool. Many with the ability to go back and fix errors in erasing.

EDIT: Using the lasso tool, as mentioned below, is also much harder than using a layer mask and painting on the mask, which is the method I would suggest.

This is a twist on the B&W + One color question.

You have to go back to the original image - which I am sure you saved, right?

Make a duplicate layer.
Erase everything except the color that you want to preserve in the top layer.
Convert the background layer to B&W and then to sepia.
Merge the layers.
Voila!
