He is always telling me how shy he is around
women and he can never talk to them.

Then why does he talk to me so much and
about everything going on in his life? Is it
because he does not see me as dating
potential?

All the girls he talks about are slender and
"hot" as he says and I am overweight, is that
it?

Let me tell you a little about what I have experienced and seen with my husband and 6 brothers.

Being friends is the best way to start a relationship. A man watches and learns who a woman really is by being there friend. How they treat others and how they truly live their life rather than being on a date and being told by the woman. Kind of like how men become friends and bond with other men by doing and observing, it is the same thing.

My brother Mark knew Darlene for 10 yrs as an acquaintance of the family before he was divorced and within a year they were married. I asked how come he was with his first wife 3 yrs before they married and less than a year w/Darlene. He told me that he spend 3 yrs and and 10 yrs of marriage learning things about Joyce than he just could spend the rest of his life dealing with and 11 yrs of watching Darlene live her life and he already knew the kind of woman she was and a life with her would be great. He never even had a private converstion w/Darlene until the night he signed his divorce papers but he saw who she was.

My husband and I have known each other for 25 yrs and when we were teenagers I dated Jimmy for 3 yrs and he dated Jimmy's older sister for the same amount of time. After 21 yrs he asked me on a date. Within 6 months we were married and got pregnant the month after that. When everyone questioned him on moving so fast he said that he saw how I treated people, a guy through a break up, and he really like the person I was and now he loved me and he wasn't going to waste any more time.

My point is don't Poo-Poo a friendship, just live your life. Enjoy your friendship and if something happens great if not than he isn't the one and just be happy he is a good friend.

The best way to find love is to live your life for you and be happy with who you are and love will come, when you are whole within yourself..

I never believed that until it happened to me.........

If he is intersted in you he will let you know. Maybe he doesnt see you as dating potential. I would just stick to being his friend.
