sean:That is true , however your god isn't suppose to cause confusion right? Suppose to be love right?Well the bible says that he ordered children to be put to death, ordered his people to sneak in and kill people and they then stole their stuff, one of his followers offer his young virgin daughters to the men of the town for sex, that are some of the examples..if you want to serve a god like that go for it...But not me..I want no part of it!

Many of those who were once Christians take offense when the Christians say we don't know anything about Christianity.

I get it all the time, meanwhile, I've read the Bible three times, I was baptized, confirmed and studied Christianity for ten years before I determined it (along with all other religions) was pure bunk.

They're just embarrassed and ashamed that we had the strength to escape from the guilty delusion, and they did not.

I was raised in a Methodist home but left Christianity as a young adult. I stumbled across Judaism (wasn't looking, just curious) after many years as an agnostic and discovered that beliefs are inconsequential -- it's what you do with your life that's important.

Conversion isn't required (no special rewards), but you'll be amazed by the Jewish version of Judaism after having been fed the Christian version.

i was raised in a christian home, was baptized, went to church school, and went on to reject the whole 'jesus' thing, and christianity as a whole.

after much searching, i decided that there were the least number of internal contradictions in judaism (and there are some, i know, but i felt that i could deal with these), and converted and became jewish 30 years ago.

i read both the king james and the revised standard christian bibles, at least 10 times (probably more, but, as i say, at least 10), and don't miss it at all.

You was never a Christian, you felt strange because you was never saved. You said you knew your Bible, Why did you ask this ?? Please do not blame God for the actions of some people who say they are Christians. When you stand before God someday you will only have to answer for yourself, nobody else, are you ready for that, its coming, as sure as the sun comes up in the morning its coming. You can be ready, I can tell you how, just say Dear Jesus, I confess to you that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. I believe that you came to earth and died on a cross as a perfect sacrifice my sins and then rose from the grave the third day. I ask you to come into my heart and save me and make me a child of God, In Jesus name I Pray, Amen...If you will Pray this Prayer with a sincere heart you will be born again!!!! May God Bless YOU!!

It's a problem of perspective. They think "When I read the Bible, I became a Christian. All people will become Christian when they read the Bible."

I understand how you feel. I get that a lot myself. I have read the bible and studied it more than the majority of christians I've met and know as well.

Try to remember what it was like to be one of them, and be glad you are not stuck in that closed mindset anymore. Perhaps you can have compassion on them when they behave badly.

Religions are not a person and cannot think. I believe you meant to ask if some religious PEOPLE think we're (we who?) dumb.
How dumb do you mean?
In reference to what?
Others are answering as if they know your reference. Possibly they simply are taking your cue to bash "religions" without a real reason stated.

Depends on what you mean by "we", do you mean your religion or you personally. Yes some religions do find other religions absurd b/c they dont understand them fully.
