Doing some reseach and it sounds like i 'may' have CTS? But i do not have all the symptoms. Started a few wks ago in my thumb. it felt like it was in the bone (not a muscle) then other parts of my hand started to hurt, & i was thinking perhaps arthritis (I am 31 yr female). 2 wks later I was restraining a dog at work who had proquipine quills in his face and it took every ounce of strenght to restrain him, took aprox 5 min and as the quills were in his face, I had to hold him at a funny angle. When i finally let go the pain in my hand was very intense. my hand swelled up but was down by the next day. Since then i have noticed the pain more..things like washing my hair, using a pepper grinder etc are hard. I do not wake up at night from pain, i do not have tingling or numbness. at times the pain goes up my wrist/arm and its not always in the same spot. seems worse at night but maybe just notice it more then?Iit is not getting better, feels worse.Thank you!!

If you try all of the above and nothing pans out please have your doctor check you for rheumatoid Arthritis. Probably not, but you never know. Worth a little blood test.

I went through this a few months back. Thought it was a torn ligiment, CTS, or maybe a broken small bone in my wrist. Went to the doc, who sent me for X-rays, then back for an MRI, then to an orthopedic hand specialist who told me that I had Kienbock's Disease.

Never even heard of it before, so I went on-line for a look, and sure enough there it was. It is listed as a Rare Disease (syndrom). I will put a couple of webpages here for you to look at.

Definately ask your doctor about this possibility. It is not a fatal disease, and it is not progressive past the one bone (lunate) in your wrist..

Hopefull for you that it is nothing more than CTS. My best wishes to you.

You can e-mail me through my e-mail in my Answers profile, if you want.

If you should happen to have Kiendock's, there is a group at Yahoo for people that have it.

Yes it could be carpal tunnel. You should see a doctor about it anyway.

It's possible you may have DeQuervain's Tendinitis. It can be very painful at times. It is a condition caused by inflammation of the tendons located at the thumb side of your wrist. They can become sore from over use or a sudden strain. The pain can be felt in the thumb and forearm. I suffered from this same condition for over a year.I had injections, therapy, braces, etc. nothing helped me but surgery. Sorry for your pain and hope you the best.

It could be carpal tunnel syndrome. Try tapping on the inside of your wrist. Do you feel electric tingling sensations going down in your hand? Try bending your wrist at a 90 degree angle and holding that position for one minute. Do you feel your symptoms after that?

i don't think you have cts. i have a minor case of carpal tunnel and my whole hand tingles. do you do something that causes your hand to be in the same position continually? i mainly have cts because i play golf, play games, and surf the internet.

it's probably tendinitis. You might try to ice as much as possible and take some anti inflammatory meds like ibuprofen. cts usually happens over time with repetitive motion.
