Why should teachers respect students????

Yes it is hard sometimes today because some students can be pretty rude etc. but if a teacher didn't show a little respect then what is that teaching the students. Do two wrongs make a right? I don't think so.
Maybe some of them are just testing a teacher out.A teacher being ignorant back isn't going to bring them around.
Like one of the answers said, show a little respect and get a little respect.

Even if they do not respect how they behave or speak, they are the adults and ought to be in better control of their feelings and words. As a teacher I have heard other teachers say very disrespectful comments. It may be how they were raised but it isn't necessary. If I were the parents of that student, I would be in the principal's office.
Does anyone perform well with a rude and disrespectul "boss?"

I agree with Retta...seems like there's a lot of disrespect coming from the students...in turn that will wear down even the best of teachers...eventually they'll stop caring.

Ask another question along with yours...Why should students respect teachers?

Because children are our future as difficult as it may be the teacher is there to make a difference, It goes with the territory and the teacher will find personal reward for putting the pupal into the real world onto the right track.

I would have to say because the rule of do unto others as you would have them do unto you applies across the board.
People should show each other respect no matter what their age, or position in life.
Where I come from we call if human dignity.
