As usual, its totally misinterpited by outsiders who seem to misplace it as jelousy. Its not a case of "oh your successful lets nock you off your high horse", but a case of us aussies seeing everyone as equals, regardless of race, colour, socalled social status, how rich you are, how well you are dressed.

All these mean nothing to us, essentually we are all humans and your **** does stink. Its also the reason why we like to see the poms get flogged in cricket :), those pompous dimwits!

and your question is?

Yep. I agree. The fact is, some people (not just foriegners) seem to think that people are above criticism once they reach a certain level, and anything bad said about them is "tall poppy syndrome".

Personally, I reckon the whole concept is stupid. If someone does something stupid or bad we should be able to comment on it regardless of how important or successful they are.

The phrase "tall poppy syndrome" only seems to come out when the side that supports the person is losing the argument.

Your interpirisation of the torl puppy sindrome makes you sound very much like a communist.
Under their interpirisations of life, everyone is cremated equal (though of course, some are more equal than others).
One must accept, whether one likes it or not, that some people will rise above the median and others will fall below.

An old saying goes " I hate the guys that criticise and minimise the other guys whose enterprise has made them rise above the guys who criticise and minimise.

the tall poppy syndrome is to cut down someone who trys to show off and thinks there better than others but not necessarily successful people who don't show off

What's the question or is this just your way of having your opinion published on the internet? Maybe you should consider a blog.
