I keep hearing my mom talk about how evil they are and I feel kind of bad that she is judging the like this. What is the muslim religion? I'm not trying to convert but I'm just wondering. What is it and why is mymom hating them so? I'm a pagan and she rants on us to.

I think your mum just like many other people believe all the lies and trash about Islam in the media. It is wrong to generalize. You can't judge every Muslim by the actions of a few sick individuals. Look at hitler, you can't blame every German for his actions, same way you can't blame every Muslim for the evil actions of terrorists.
Killing and suicide are both MAJOR sins in Islam. Islam teaches us to worship one God and to live our lives peacefully and to be respectful and tolerant of others. I hope your mum will understand this and realize that it is wrong to blame every Muslim for the actions of a few sick individuals.

Muslims are the followers of Islam religion.Islam is the only religion now which is blessed by Allah the only one God.Islam is a pure monotheistic religion.Allah has no son and no parents and no other God than Allah.Islam means clean and peaceful.God gives to muslims the life guide that is the holy Qur'an which supplemented by hadith as its explanation by our prophet Muhammad pbuh for fractising it in our daily lives..Qur'an contains what should be done by muslims such as,witnessing Allah the only one God and Muhammad pbuh as the last prophet and Allah's messenger, praying at least 5 times a day,pay islamic taxes or zakat monthly,fasting during the fasting month Ramadhan, and pay a haj pilgrimage if we have enough time,money and healtrh once along our lives by visiting Mecca aand Arafah in a certain month.All muslims should believe in Allah,the holly books (Zabur,Bible,Qur'an)the

Muslims are followers of Mohammed.
Contrary to what fundamentalist Jews and Christians will tell you, they worship the same God - God of Abraham - as we do.
They do not believe Jesus is/was the Son of God. Nor, do they believe in the Holy Trinity.
Islam started in 6 or 7 centuries after the death of Christ. It was centered in the middle east - due to the fact that the founder of Islam is/was Mohammed - an Arab.

It is said that 99% of Islam is 'tawheed' (believing in one and only God and not associating partners in His divinity). If you believe that you are already 99% Muslim!
The rest of Islam is that God sent many prophets to Earth to teach mankind, among which were Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Prophet Muhammad. Muslims believe that if you believe in God and trust Him; take personal responsibility; maintain discipline; and do good things in this world, you will be rewarded in this world and/or in the hereafter, where you will have everything that you'll ask for. Exercising good judgment and helping fellow human beings is the key to success.
Politically, Muslims do NOT hate Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists or even pagans. Muslims, however believe that Muslims living in the Middle East should have political freedom, they should not be under the yoke of foreign powers, and they should be free to develop their own societies at their own pace. Many Christians and Jews, on the other hand, find themselves superior and want to control Muslims or at least their future in order to sustain their perceived superiority or super power status. That's what this hoopla is all about.
Your Mom might have been influenced by negative propaganda about Islam, most of which I am sure is false. Lies have been told about Islam for almost 1400 years, so it's not easy to undo them. But it's your moral duty to study all religions objectively, and see which one makes sense. We think it's Islam; you may come to a different decision.
Critics of Islam take verses of Quran out of context, point to few terrorists as representing Islam, forget that Islam is not monolithic and there are various opinions within Islam, and judge medieval Muslims or Muslim authors by modern-day standards, which is rather unfair.

Islam is not a new religion , but a final restatement of the original revelation that has been conveyed to humanity by messengers and prophets sent by GOD
The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values
However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.
The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus.To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.
God promised that since Muhammad is the last of the series of the Prophets and Messengers and since the Holy Qur'an is His last Book of Guidance to humanity, He Himself will guard it from any changes or corruptions till the Day of Judgment. This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.
There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an.
Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.
The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.
The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

People who are brain washed in their childhood about Quran being the final book from God and nothing else should take its place. Believe in a Prophet who fought wars and married 11 women some were underage by today's criteria.

Islam is a religion which teaches belief in One God. Muslims believe in Muhammad (saws) as a messenger of that One God, who was sent to guide us to the right path. We believe in angels, many other prophets, in their revelations in forms of books, in the Day of Judgement when all humans will be resurrected after death and we believe in Destiny, that all things, good and bad come from God.
We pray 5 times a day, fast for a month from sunrise to sunset and we pay charity as an obligation every year.
Islam is a religion of peace and justice, unlike the accusations you may hear. Everything in Islam is justified it is just he ignorant public that deliberately do not see this truth.

Islam is a religion that is not violent, just like any other religion. Violence and evil is simply a reaction of the individual's personal issues, the religion has nothing to do with it.
