The American dream is different things to different people. What are your goals? I recommend to everyone that they set 3, 6, 12 month goals as well as 2, 4 and 5 year goals.
Can you do it? Yep, I have done it multiple times. Just remember, set goals high but not so high that you cannot reach them no matter who or what you are. Set timelines, but if you miss something, do not beat yourself up over it, set a new timeline and figure out how to make it happen this time.
For some the American dream is riches, for others it is joy of family; others? Well the sky is the limit.

Have all the dreams you want, just remember you are going to have to find a way to pay for those dreams with your own time and money.

The American dream varies a lot, it is not the same for an American in Patagonia than for an American in Canada.
