I was watching the race when Bill Elliott's rear tire changer got crushed when Ricky Rudd spun his car into Bill's while they were doing a tire change. It was terrible. That was the last year that they didn't have a pit road speed. Crew members have still got hit since then but not as often and the consequences aren't near as bad.

To nights incident wasn't the first and it won't be the last. The crew members have a difficult job to do. Who else would run in front of a car going 65 miles an hour. I know I wouldn't.
