Heaven and hell?
I think i believe in the outline of it, but i mean, c'mon.
I seriousley can't believe that 'god' set out a list of rules, and then basically made it a "my-way-or-the-highway" thing.
Does anyone else believe in this??
And besides, I thought heaven was in the sky. I've been in a plane before, and no offense, but i havent seen anything.
If it were any higher, it would be called SPACE. not, HEAVEN
or well, i guess thats my opinion lol.

Not exactly the way I see it...matter of perspective.
Consider this analogy. God is pure white. When he created man, they were also pure white. When Adam and Eve ate from a particular tree, they became aware of the existence of black. God knows that if he mixes pure white with even one drop of black, that it ceases to be pure white and becomes gray. Thus, for man to be able to exist with God, he must remain pure white.
God wants all of his creation to be able to live with him again as they did in the garden so he gives them detailed instructions to avoid adding any black to themselves during their time on earth so they will still be pure white when the time comes to join him in his kingdom.
Yes, I guess you could call it my way or the highway but I prefer to think of it as a basic law that imperfection can't possibly exist with perfection. At the moment Adam and Eve chose self-determination over the perfect wisdom of God, they and all their descendents were naturally destined to be imperfect.
...and remember that the message of Jesus is that he washes us clean...that through him we can be born again pure white. My finite mind can't possibly comprehend the infinite wisdom of God but I can accept that something about having faith allows us to enter his kingdom unblemished.

Isn't it funny I find it hard NOT to believe. My whole life from as young as I can go back, I've believed. My parents didn't go to church for health and work reasons, but us kids did. I always 'hungered' for God's word. Is it something that some of us are more attuned to I wonder? Like psychics' ability over the more average person? Because no matter, sometimes, what a believer tells a non-believer, it just won't 'click'. You have to open your heart with your mind to accept Christ and the knowledge pours into you. Good luck in finding the 'gate' to enter into this knowledge and with it knowing whether there is Heaven and Hell.

and I can't believe that a singulairty of energy could be self-existant. guess we all have our beliefs, some better than others
and yes I believe in a Heaven and Hell. they're not ion nor are accessible in this universe, they're in a realm all their own.
and you thought wrong. Heaven (where God resides) isn't in the sky there's the atmospheric heavens, space, and the realm where God resides. a lot of us have seen the atmospheric heavens (stratosphere, mesosphere etc).

The basis on heaven being in the sky and hell being under us is more of symbolism than belief, but I dont believe in a hell, heaven im still looking at

No, not even for a moment. I have yet to see a religious kook provide any evidence whatsoever in support of their religion, whatever it might be. So for the same reason I don't believe in unicorns, the flying spaghetti monster or gnomes, I will go on not believing in religion.

One thing is for certain sister..as sure as their is a heaven their is a hell..Hell is where you and I are destined to go. It is the common grave. The problem you must reason with is which place would you want to go. My answer would be neither!
I would not want to stay in hell or be in heaven..I would like to live on this earth in peace and in good health. On a perfect world where all live forever!

Good thinking. You're smart. Jehovah's Witnesses discovered this over 70 years ago and haven't taught things the way of other 'Christian" churches since. God is TOO loving to punish even the wicked in a firey hell. Some select will go to heaven but that's for him to choose and he promised most of his loyal ones life forever on a paradise earth. There is no hell. All it means is man's common grave. So technically Christ was in hell for 3 days. No fire, no Devils...Just non-existence

Hard to imagine that people of the 21st Century are following the stories of old hill tribesmen and turning them into their religion.
