I realize there is the issue in this country. I hear people talking about themselves and people they love being unable to get a job, or having to lower rates to compete with undocumented. There are people concerned with the education that their children are receiving in our public schools. I have heard concerns about taxes, and, what our taxes pay for. A lot of these things have made me really think about this issue. What I don't understand is the posts as of late that are "hoping" to harm or kill these people. Entire families- or, drivers entering the country (who personally have nothing to do with the new law, and they themselves aren't undocumented). I sympathize and understand the strain that we are going through, but, I am REALLY concerned when I hear people threatening, or, hoping, or "praying" that someone dies.....
Doesn't hate eat up too much of your time and your soul?
Wouldn't it be better to address the law- not some family?

Thank you thus far for proving to me that we are a country of good people, just with different thoughts...
Pcpy- You make me laugh! No, my family is here 6 generations- from Wales. Great Uncle died in Pearly Harbor. Husband white as can be- 4 generations- from England. My association- through work! Funny generalization, though. This is very much my country- and, I love it. Thank you.

Robert J & 45 Cal- 1st, I work and have 4 children. (2 in public schools). Secondly, the point is not about illegal immigration. We are allowed our own views. I think that ANYONE advocating killing ANYONE is a little "off". That is the point of the question/

Slew- I can't "read" people when they are only words showing up on a computer. And, if I thought there was an "imminent threat", I wouldn't be asking why people were wishing it, I would be urging yahoo to trace IDs. I am not under the impression that they are going to "Act" upon their feelings. My question was intended to find out WHY earlier posts saying "I hope they are killed... Or laughing about illegal children being harmed.." I knew it was a thought.. That is why I asked "wishing" instead of "trying to"....

The people you hear talking like that are usually racists towards Mexicans in particular. You don't hear them talking about the other undocumented people. To them "undocumented" = Mexican.
Fine... PREJUDICED against Mexicans. Whatever. At any rate, I agree with the rest of what you said.
Edit: I like how 12 hours later, coming back to read the additional responses, that few people answered the actual question. This question wasn't "why don't people like Illegal Immigrants," that's self explanatory... The question is what is with this desire to kill them, entire families. They are still people.
I'm disturbed that more people didn't say, "I don't want them dead, I just don't think they should come here illegally and should be sent back." Especially if they want to claim that they have no prejudices towards them based upon their nationality.

I *so* agree with you. Like you, I realize that a LOT of people against illegal immigration do NOT hate the immigrants, and are NOT racists. I'm fascinated, however, that when we ask "why the hate/racism?" around here, the innocent chime in to say they DON'T hate and AREN'T racists, as if they were the ones accused. Can't they see the hatred and racism that is hiding--with SOME people, not the majority--under what should be a political issue with political solutions?
Just because anti-illegal-immigration people are not all racists or full of hatred doesn't CHANGE the fact that there are some people here who DO hate and ARE racists, and I would love to see more of the people *against* illegal immigration call them on it more often.
It's not helping their side, that's for sure. We should be able to solve this problem without wishing anybody dead.

I can only speak for myself and I wish the illegals no harm, and if I have ever posted anything that wished them harm, I apologize. I just wish that they understood that the American citizens have the right to set their own immigration policies and not the illegals no matter how hard working or well intended

There's a big difference between saying that you want to kill someone and actually doing it. To go with that statement I'll add that people have been wishing others harm throughout history, again that is not the same as doing it.
But when it comes down to it, is it really that surprising when the American people see that their own government isn't doing what it should on this matter. People will turn to a do-it-yourself way of thinking more and more as long as this continues.
Personally I would much rather we have secured borders and the illegals deported. I would rather illegals be denied services and jobs. If this doesn't happen soon, Americans WILL turn to violence as a last recourse, this is something that needs to be avoided. All the "candy & flowers" sentiments won't change this when people are losing their jobs & homes.

I am not hoping them dead...I am just hoping them to go home...Back out of our country and into their's. They are here illegal and do not have a right here. In Mexico there have strengthened there southern border to keep illegals from coming in (people from Brazil, Ecuador, countries from south America) and telling there people of Mexico it is ok to "sneak" across to our country....whats up with that? We are doing as they are doing but we are in the wrong???

I believe that hating this type of people, this group of people who are known as illegals is just as worse as hating another because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, etc.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being against illegal immigration. HOWEVER, I agree, there is something really wrong when people wish harm or death on people b/c they are illegal. My bet would be that some where in their lives , they are really unhappy people. There is enough hate in this world. It doesn't need anymore

I wish no one dead, or harmed in any way, and I would certainly not pray that any of it would happen. I want my country back. I want the criminal illegal aliens deported so that the legal citizens of this great country survive. I do not want my country turned into the cesspool that the majority of illegals came from.
