We are very close and 2 different siblings are getting married within a couple months of each other. We all make between 45-75k a year.

Their finances and I have a pretty good relationship if that helps.

I'm not looking for a limit. They won't hold it against me or anything because they know my finances. I want to do the right thing though.

i don't really think there should be a set amount. actually it would be better if you made like a basket full of stuff for them, gift certificates, bath stuff, whatever they like. i don't really like knowing who spent how much. it's much better if i can just look at the gift and enjoy it then knowing how much it cost. just go for what they like and don't worry about the price tag. I'd say about $100-150. if you can afford it. that could get you a nice bath set and a gift certificate to their favorite resturant and some movie money to go see a show. they have nice gift sets at baby and body works and you can make your own if you would like. just ask a sales person to help you.

The customary amount is between $50 & $100. However, every person is different and can afford different things. My husband and I were able to spend more on the gift for my sister's wedding than my sister was for my wedding. Do what you can afford, and make sure the gift is from the heart. When it is from the heart, the price doesn't matter/

I think you should discuss this openly with each other. If you are close and getting married at about the same time, you should decide what gifts you want as the momento from each other for observing the event. You should spend the same amount. One thought is to contribute to each other's honeymoons.

I would think that it's the gift that counts. Of course don't be cheap, that will just bite you in the butt later. I would buy a gift for the house (unless they are already set up, as is most people now a days) or I would buy somehting meaningful. I say either way about 300-500

It all depends on what you are comfortable spending. For a close relative, I usually spend between 100 and 200$. Extended family is 50$. But...if I were made of money I would spend more. It all depends on what you feel is reasonable.

$200 to $500 per sibling is both reasonable and generous. I might suggest a $200 check and something nice from the registry.

Most of the siblings I knew gave each other a check for a good ammount depending what you earn perhaps a $1,000 a piece; If you want to get a gift Tiffany's is always a good choice.

I really don't understand why you are looking for a limit for how much to spend on a GIFT for a sibling. Isn't it a GIFT? Are they entitled to it? Do you have no choice but to give one? Give them something YOU want to give them, and making it personal, meaningful may be more significant that what it COST. And if you have a sibling who is more concerned about COST than the LOVE OF A SIBLING, they are very ungrateful. Give what you feel good about, give something that has meaning or something you know they will enjoy.
