I would much rather reign in Hell than to serve some self-indulging, self-righteous, egomaniacal Abramahic deity anytime.

As an individualist, there is no real honor in serving. One is merely a willing "slave" at the behest of another.

The quote is from Milton, and it doesn't really suggest that hell can be groovy. What it means is that Satan (who makes the statement in Paradise Lost) would rather rule than serve, even if he only gets to rule hell. That being the case, hell already has a ruler, and the rest of us are faced with the choice of serve in heaven or serve in hell. But, that is Milton for you.

No, why would I want to rule in some non-existent place? That would equate to being non-existent. I plan on ascending to the Mansions... Hell is a humanly concocted idea... in reality, there is no hell, only unreality will happen to those who are so iniquitous that they can not be salvaged - and it will be by choice. Besides, people who rule, well, that's what they mean to do...rule. I would rather not rule over others anywhere. People are too wonderful to do that and, well, human ideas of ruling are pretty sinful. Man creates his own hell, and it is torment! Just commit a sin and you will know it, if you don't feel like committing a sin, then imagine it, and then you'll not be asking such questions anymore.

As a CURRENT resident of HELL (East Tennessee) on knee jerk impulse I would say YES as I would get to outlaw "Country Music", cowboy hats, cowboy boots (all western apparel), UT Football/Women's basketball (collegiate sports), require everyone to graduate high school (absolutely no 6th grade dropouts), criminalize the color orange, penalize the majority who have never heard of dental hygiene, outlaw the practice of asking everyone they meet if they've been saved or if they want to come to their church this Sunday and the list goes on and on.

But if I was given the choice between Hawaii (actually just about anywhere in the Pacific) or hell I would take Hawaii!

Hell and Heaven both exist here on Earth.

Hell is in Iraq and the Commander-in-Chief rules.

Heaven lies about us in our infancy and childhood. Mother rules.

Thereafter, heaven's gate can be found only between the port and starboard sides, but each man must find his own way. Mother Nature rules.

13% of the New Testament talks about hell, and no, it really isn't a nice place. It will be a place of constant torment, lonliness, you won't even be able to see tour hand in front of your face, the feeling of being burned alive and finally, the sensation of being eaten alive. This goes on 24/7, no breaks and surely no sleep. This is nothing compared to the Lake of Fire when hell and all of it's inhabitants are cast into it.

Not that I believe in heaven or hell, but hell would probably end up being full of all the self-righteous b*stards who ticked me off on earth -- so I'll just wander around in limbo for eternity.

What can be said for you to realize the dangerous position that you are taking. Jesus is the answer, regardless if you believe it or not. Hell is NOT a wonderfull place and NOT a place to be joked about. Don't do it for me or the other Christians here. do it for yourself, so you can rule in Heaven............with Jesus.....
