If he goes to heaven because he has never committed any sins, therefore, wouldn’t it be best to kill all the babies right away? Then they could never commit any sins and would go straight to heaven. After all, if they grow up, there is a real danger that they will become sinners and end up going to hell.

Different Christian denominations have different views on this.

One (generally) uniform belief among all Catholics and Protestants is the idea of original sin (my understanding is that Orthodox Christianity interprets this differently). Original sin means that we have inherited the original sin of Adam and Eve, and therefore we are all born in the condition of having fallen from grace. Roman Catholics and "mainline" protestants believe in paedobaptism (baptism of babies) and believe this cleanses them of original sin and is capable of cleansing all other sins for those who are baptized later in life.

Denominations that are more evangelical or fundamentalist do not believe in paedobaptism and believe the child must be old enough to make a conscious and mature decision to accept Jesus. Historically, many of these churches have often buried unbaptized children without any religious services, as any unbaptized child would be damned because of original sin and because they did not have a chance to accept Jesus.

While the Catholic church never made the idea of Limbo a matter of dogma, they did teach for several centuries that unbaptized babies may be in a unique place in the afterlife without eternal torment but without closeness to God. This has recently been rejected by the Catholic church.

So the general consensus would be that an unbaptized baby goes to hell. Killing a baptized baby that is free of sin would be a sin in itself. The baby would not be judged for the action and would be in a state of God's grace, but the person committing the act would be seriously threatening their own salvation by killing it.

Edit: This does not necessarily reflect my personal views. This is an explanation of what some churches teach, and clearly there are many different views. The view that children and babies who were not baptized go to Heaven is much more prominent today than it has been in the past.

They go to heaven, because they are innocent, they never had a chance to hear the word and believe therfore they will not be judged on that. Jesus says that you must be like an innocent child to enter heaven..
It would not be best to kill babies, because honestly what world would we have. Also just because you are a sinner doesn't mean you go to hell. I am a sinner yet I believe and have accepted my lord Jesus Christ as my savior, and with that and his death my sins are forgiven.

Love, aside from your Swiftean proposal in regard to babies and heaven and hell, there is an answer to your question: what happens when a baby dies? The sweet little thing lives on in the mind of the mother until she bids farewell to this little blue rock of ours.

2 Sam 12:14-31 Mat 19:13-15 They go to Heaven. David said his son would not come to him, he would go to his son.

Little children that die under the age of accountability (usually eight years of age) automatically return to the Father's presence in the highest order of heaven called the Celestial Kingdom.

It is ludricrous to even suggest murdering our children so they cannot exercise their free agency as they mature. All of us were sent here to grow while using our agency to choose right or wrong and the path that will take us toward eternal glory or eternal damnation.

To suggest such an act "of mercy" ought to land the perpetrators under the death penalty.

Babies are not explicitly covered under the New Covenant. The subject is not mentioned in the Bible explicitly. But God it would not be contrary to God's judicial nature and not inconsistent with his grace to save them. But I wouldn't bet on it. And that's the point - namely that the Bible simply doesn't say.

Babies & children go to heaven. They aren't mature or old enough to understand right vs. wrong or sin.

Babies go to Heaven. I don't care what the Catholic dogma says.
