I have three kittens, each around 3-4 months old. They live in our yard which is inside the house. We have a small garden where i let them go to do their things and play. But lately they have develops new ideas to go outside our garden, very far to other peoples gardens, there are cars and children who once stole one of the kitten. How do i get them under control. How can i discipline them not to go outside the yard?

i used to let them go out as much as they want but then one of them got attacked horribly and almost died. But he goes back, this time to get into a worse accident, by sitting in the middle of the road.

This should be a no-brainer for you.

Your cats sit in the road, they're going to get hit.

Your cats have been attacked by dogs and one was stolen.

The area you live in is NOT safe for outdoor cats, especially for ones with absolutely no road sense or danger sense. Turn them into indoor cats unless you can walk them on harness or have a special containment area built like a cat kennel/patio thing.

Just letting them run loose is irresponsible, you've already had enough warnings and close calls with your animals, I can't see them living to even one year old if you keep this up.

Don't let them out anymore. Kittens are pretty much defenseless to any dog, cat, and of course cars! You need to keep them inside and if you have a screened in porch, let them play out there since it is still enclosed and they can't get out or have the possibility of getting hurt. If you love them and care about them, you won't let them outside especially at such a young age. You are pretty much asking for them to get hurt or killed. It seems like you would have learned when the first one got hurt! If you want them outside, put a fence up and declaw the front claws so they can't climb it.

There are kits you can buy that you can attach to the top of your fence that curl over the top so the cats cannot climb over . Other then that there really is no way to keep your cats from leaving your yard except for not letting them out at all .

Please stop letting them out. What makes you think that your neighbors like your cats in their yard? You have already seen what can happen when you let them out, so you need to do the opposite which is to keep them inside. When someone steals a kitten, what do you think they do with it? Sometimes it's not very nice what they do with it. Do you wish this on your kittens? They are too young to know better and it is up to you to make sure they are safe. Allowing them outside is irresponsible and reckless. Please keep them inside where they will be safe and happy.

You have made a comitment tho those animals- they are still babies.
Correct the area of the fence so they can not get out, are they fixed and neutered ?
Stop allowing them to be in danger immediately.
What does your vet say ? over the counter food also has a lot of sugar and is like feeding chocolate to children, they get all hyper.
Please educate yourself on cats. Please keep them inside.
thank you for adopting them.

you could try the invisible fence which is also used for dogs to keep them from wondering out the yard. or maybe a harness and a long enough leash for each of them.
