THE Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians’ military capability in three days, according to a national security expert.

We've heard news like this before....nothing ever happens. no one would ever disclose any classified info to any media anyways, why would this be posted? is this any way close to reality?

It can be but right now take it with a grain of salt. I would be dubious only because it might the same set of "experts" who declared we would be greeted as liberators.
I think Dubya and cabal will think of trying something in mid 2008 to help bolster whichever Pub dimwit is nominated so it can be declared as a continuation of the " Global War on Terror"
The CIA own fact book would indicate that this was be a colossal mistake considering the Iranian armed forces is estimated to be 2-3 times the size of the Iraqi Army and unlike Iraq, they did not suffer from the embargos etc which plagued that nation. Iran with the exception of the inability to fix the old F-16's they had in their arsenal have more than likely ramped up their capability and " shock and awe" might not be as significant as we would be led to believe. I guess we will just have to wait and see if this is all about starting Armageddon and the final rapture for these set of morons.

There are hundreds of contingency plans in the data base of the Pentagon, including the invasion of Canada and/or Mexico. This particular contingency does have one salient feature to its being leaked. It gives the boys in Tehran a bit of a head-clearing. Looking at the fact that Iran is bracketed on both sides by American air power assets in Iraq and Afghanistan, a three day series of air sorties and missions sounds about right.
Throughout the years I've come to accept that the one thing which gives all of these tin-pot dictators like the fellow in Tehran night sweats is the realization that an American President might decide to take them out with military force of arms.

We have no idea how accurate the article is.

One possibility that has to be considered is that this may be disinformation that was leaked by the government in order to keep everybody guessing as to what our next move is going to be.

Pentagon has dozen of different plans, one for any possible situation.
They have a plan of CUT and RUN, too.
And I have a "gut feeling", it is their primary plan for 2008.

I certainly hope they have a plan. I can't believe it's been published...no wait, yes I can.
