I was just wondering hours-wise how long it takes for each of them on average. I was planning on getting mine while in school. Also do you know if you have to take them together at the same time or seperate or which is better? Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

It should take just one flight for each of them. As long as you are competent then the flight instructor should give you the endorsement for it.

They both have their advantages. The complex you will need for flying retractable gear airplanes and the high performance you will need for flying the higher horsepower airplanes so they are both necessary in my opinion.

Shouldn't take longer than an hour for each one as long as you demonstrate good competency. You instructor should also throw in some ground school to go with it. You have to learn the differences in high performance planes.

Not very long. They usually take the shortest amount of time of any ratings. You can get them together, which I would recommend, it will save you quite a bit if you are a new pilot.
I think you would almost have to go out o your way to get your complex in a low powered aircraft, most have at least 200hp.

Depends on how fast you learn. It took me 2 hours, because the only available complex aircraft was a PA28-180 and the high performance was an R172K with a 210 hp. STC..

It took me about 2 hours total. My instructor felt that I was good to go in each after just a little practical training and a reminder to always use my checklist, particularly on the complex part....wheels up landings are expensive.

first answer correct but it should be type. Single engine land or twin, sea, whatever. Now training is a diff matter, that takes as long as you get competent and YOU feel the same. Plus there is the owner to contend with and the weather

Varies, you should be able to get it an hour or 2, both in the same A/C
