Be nice to Her "Do unto the other guy what you would want the other guy to do to you!"

More information...well anyway i have this cousin and im lin=ving with her now...dude now she is a brat!!! We were home and i was using the comp and i told her i'd be off in 20 min (i was during and oral report) the calls her mom and starts to CRY HESTERICALLY!!! saying that i kicked her out and that i was being a*** ect., i had no idea that was comiing!!! If she really is a brat just spend the least time as possible with her and dont return evil with evil. Show her that ur the better person and that'll probably make her feel bad, u know. Otherwise just be like "whatever". She's ur sister and ur stuck with her. Doesnt mean she has 2 be ur bff. Be nice n the better person . Hope this helps...!

Your sister is acting up to get attention... which is normal for all kid sisters attempting to get their way. The only thing you can do is tell her, "Look, if you are going to act that way, I don't care to put up with you! I will only be around you if you behave and be nice." Then walk away... go to your room or go for a walk around the block to blow off the stress. If you refuse to get baited into her game, she will eventually get the idea.
A walk around the block is generally a good idea in any pressure-cooker situation.

You can also offer the carrot-and-stick approach... we've just gone over the "stick". You can also "reward" her in some way... perhaps allowing her to wear something of yours, play a game with her or take her shopping or something like that.

If she is getting into your stuff, I would suggest a trip to the hardware store to buy a keyed locking doorknob for your bedroom door. It does not take much to change out the doorknobs. You wear the key on a chain around your neck and keep your room locked at all times. This is your territory.

You HAVE TO be strong and ignore her. She gets a thrill out of getting u upset. My daughter is 9 and she's a brat towards my 15 year old daughter. The only time she's not acting like a brat towards her is if she thinks its not working.......then she moves on to bigger and better things like......watching Hanna Montanna...lol. Do not react to her AT ALL.

My little sister was a brat when she was 9 . . . . and she's still a brat 30 years later!!! I like her better now, mainly because we don't live together!

There's not a lot you can do about it but grin and bear it.

All little sisters are brats!! Just like all big sisters are bossy! Just try to ignore her and in a few years you will become very close and you won't be able to imagine life without her.

she's nine...it's gonna be that way for a while. You were probably a brat at that age too.

seriously..just be nice. you'd be surprised. I just wanted my brothers attention..that's why I was a brat at that age.

Sorry girl, she's 9. At that age, they're suckers for attention. So if you jsut play with her a bit, show an obvious appreciation for her existance, she'll treat you like someone she loves and adores rather than somone she can annoy. Bring her to the mall or park with you one time when you're not so busy, so that she'll enjoy spending time with you. She'll appreciate you more if you show the same. You know, if yo uspend time with her a bit, yo umight get to like it. I did the same with my bro, and he and I are civil now... he's 12, with a heart of 6. And we love each other and stick by each other =)

there's not much you can do since she's only nine years old.
she wont listen to you if you keep yelling at her and stuff
try talking to her calmly and if she still keeps being a brat, slap her :)

I think it's just that age cause my neice is the same way. Drives me crazy! But the good thing is I can send her home to her mother. When my neice is acting up and I have her I just ignore her and won't talk to her and most times she will straighten up. Good Luck!
