I cannot answer this question but, I can tell you that my love for the Lord keeps me in a state of respect. Like you, even if I refer to Him, in the form of a pronoun...it is capitalized.
He is worthy of all my respect and love!

Some Christians take on Jewish trappings and give them their own meanings. A lot of people of all inclinations believe a lot of very strange things about Judaism. Hence the amount of misinformation given as 'answers' here. The actual practice comes from a prohibition on erasing or defacing the sacred Name. We don't write the Tetragrammaton casually lest the paper or parchment be discarded or misused. (Torah scrolls which have become too worn for use are buried, often alongside someone respected for their love and study of Torah.) Outsiders tend to see it as a weird superstition, but there's some good psychology coming out of it -- it reminds us that we can never fully comprehend the divine, that G-d cannot be limited or defined, that whatever words we use always omits much. Hebrew does this sort of thing a lot, words are deeply resonate and carry layers of meaning, so it's very natural for us to use language in this way. It's a powerful enough teaching that it makes sense to extend the practice to words like 'G-d' that we use instead. It's ok if I write God here and then close the window. But using G-d reminds me of how undefinable G-d is. I want to keep that.

On the 'net a lot of people disregard all the common writing rules.
In other cases they haven't been taught to use capitals when referring to God.
Political correctness also plays a part. The rule is to capitalize references to the God you believe (the true God) but not the gods that others may believe in (false gods). Otherwise, Christians would always write allah and references to the Islamic god (and other non-Christian false gods) in lower case.

I think many Christians these days don't truly believe in God themselves. They might think he exists or just do it because of their parents. Many don't enjoy it. They don't respect God nor take Him seriously. Also many don't even know God on an intimate level, which is sad to me. They don't capitalize His Holy name.

Capitalizing Jesus and God is a sign of respect. Unbelievers don't have that or are unaware of the importance of doing so

How true! I wonder that, too, but I notice sometimes when I'm typing fast, even i don't want to cap. my 'i' and feel sometimes that we shouldn't because God is 'above' us, but my bro said God made us and we are special! But HE does deserve to be made high and it is my way of saying God does rule my life.

Seriously....do you think He cares if we use capital letters? Think for yourself for a second. Do you think God sits up worrying whether John Smith or Jane Doe splash holy water on their forehead or eat fish on Friday or capitalize His name? "Let's see....John Smith paid for a hooker last nite - but at least he capitalized my name - so he;s ok." C'mon people. We cheat on our taxes, our spouses or bf/gf. We lie. We gossip about our neighbors. Hate homosexuals and ethnic groups. Oh....but we ate crackers and sipped grape juice last Sunday so we;re ok.

God wouldn't care.Just so long as you beleived. And some people don't realise they are being dis-courteous.God is called many things by different religions. So long as they recognise the Omnipotent power, that is the most important thing.

I've often wondered why myself many don't use capitals. But I concluded that maybe its easier just to just type faster without pressing shift.
