1st of all, consider this. God is not going to give you "Big Big projects, until He sees that you can handle the small, itsy bitsy ones. Start out with something small that you can be faithful to. If you like children, babysit, clean a homeless shelter, cook for veterans, there are lots of opportunities! God knows when we are ready and when we aren't, he isn't going to use you until you have humbled yourself. You are thinking BIG BIG~ think where can I help. A kind heart, loving hands all can be much BIGGER than thousands of dollars. Go to a nursing home, a preschool, a Christian school, there are tons of places to volunteer! Good luck, and always always keep your eyes on God, He will guide you! Blessings!

First I want to commend you for you love for our Lord Jesus Christ!!
We all want to help in big ways. But I found out something a very long time ago...the small things add up so much faster and become big things. Sometimes things such as random acts of kindness ( where the person does not even know you did something nice for them) can often be the best blessings you will ever receive. Works are not for show. Looks around. Be observant. Do you see an elderly person who may need for you to take them gro. shopping? Do you see a child that needs you to read them a book? How about a new mother who could use you to look after the older children while she washes and folds clothes. Did you know you would be doing the Lord's work? You can always use this time to just say a word or two about God's love. JUST LOOK AROUND......LOVE FROM YOUR HEART IS FREE...USE IT!!!!

Yes...here are my suggestions:
volunteer on suicide hotline or domestic/sexual violence hotline
put together a food pantry at your church or volunteer at one.
Start a community coalition that strives to reduce risk factors to kids that influence alcohol/substance abuse, teen pregnancy, school dropout, and/or violence.
Become a mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters
Volunteer at a local nursing home just to sit and talk to the lonely.
Do a special toy drive for the underprivileged.
Start an awareness campaign on an issue that is important to you.
Volunteer to be a girl scout leader
Just a few ideas...all that can be done with no money! But be sure to start regardless of your checking account amount...people, families, communities, and your friends need your interest and care.

That's very sweet of you! If you would like to help out financially to your favorite charity, the best thing to do, is grab a jar, and save all your coins for a year. Cash them in at the end of the year, and you will have a lovely check to send them.
If you don't want to wait that long, putting 5.00 to 20.00 a week in an envelope with suffice, then you can send them a check, once a month.
Every little bit helps. :) So don't worry that you are not rich.

You know what I love to do. I don't have a car so while I am waiting at the bus, I ask God to show me someone to give a bus ticket to/or bus money. I then proceed to give it to them and tell them it is from Jesus. I also volunteered at the hospital, that is very rewarding, helping the sick. There are also feeding places for the hungry. You can make sandwiches and hand them out (this is what I am going to try to do) to the homeless. Just to get a smile from someone means more to me than anything. Also send an encouraging word. You can also volunteer at a nursing home. Do you sing? Send a get well card to someone at church or just thinking of you card too.

I have helped thousands of people. God usually gives me dreams the night before and then the next day as I go about my business I run into these people (strangers usually) and help them. In return I usually get helped too. It is good as you feel like you are contributing to helping people (mostly to unsaved people ,rarely is it a I am going to save you message).I don't actually talk to them but it is like God esp. It could be a look or anything.Or you could be talking to someone you are with and as the person/s walk by they get a few words that mean something to them personally. Sometimes it is even flirting (that usually does not lead to anything). Gives people a real lift. Sometimes I am going by in the car and a person walks along who has a sad face and that is my signal to do a God "Job".Pray to God for this gift.

there are alot of ways. Homes for abused women children aging out of foster care. Always need a mentor.
If you seek enlightnement seek it like a man whos head is on fire seeks a pond. Seek it like a drowning man seeks a life preserver. Seek to help and you will be helped twice as much even when it does not seem like it at certain times .
The Lord will provide Faith will move mountains. YOU HAVE TO BRING A SHOVEL>
Go to your pastor or priest If he is a Good one he has a list.

It really helps to just give every person a smile. That may be the first time someone has given them a smile all day maybe all week. It can really make someone who is having a hard time look at a positive side to something. That's the best way to help out everyone in your own way.

Like Jenyfer J, I too am a Red Cross volunteer. I am a casework supervisor. I love being able to touch peoples lives in a very positive way. Whatever you enjoy doing, there is an opportunity there. Whether it be working in the office, driving the emergency response vehicle in times of disaster or to support your local public servants during a crisis period, there is opportunity there. The training is free. Red Cross offers many classes, I am in disaster service, but if you like community events, fund raising, supporting the health and safety programs,. they would love to have you!
