The answer is somewhere in the Uniform Code of Military Justice 10 USC Sections 886-934. cant seem to find it so would be grateful if someone out there could shed some light

Currently, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 14 offenses are punishable by death. The following can receive this punishment at any times (with the article of the Uniform Code of Military Justice given):

94 - Mutiny or sedition
99 - Misbehavior before the enemy
100 - Subordinate compelling surrender
101 - Improper use of countersign
102 - Forcing a safeguard
104 - Aiding the enemy
106 - Espionage
110 - Improper hazarding of vessel
118 - Murder
120 - Rape and carnal knowledge

The following only carrying a death sentence if committed during times of war:
85 - Desertion
90 - Assaulting or willfully disobeying superior commissioned officer
92 - Failure to obey order or regulation
113 - Misbehavior of a sentinel or lookout

Valid question! I am interested in the answers. I only thought that espionage was the offense punishable by the death penalty.
Given my lack of knowledge I am rather ashamed to admit that I am a WAF Vet?!?

Article 104 Aiding the enemy. Admittedly committed by Sen. John Kerry while a member of the US Naval Reserve.

I don't know but here are some...
Desertion on the battle field can be dealt with by summary execution.
I would think treason
'Fragging' a superior?
Here's one for you:
I was a Navy quartermaster (navigator) and in time of war as I understood it if we forgot to wind the chronometer and it stopped as a result, the captain could have you marched out on deck and summarily shot!

"Insane1" hit the nail on the head; there are 15 offenses under the UCMJ that are punishable by death, which he has already listed.
