Ok its the fallowing scripture. which by the way was changed by King James."Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." (Exodus 22:18)

Witch... or Poisoner?
"His" Bible (the King James Bible) was translated to keep Jamie-boy happy, so they translated the word chasaph--which is Hebrew for poisoner-- to mean "witch" instead.

The real Biblical passage was about the disturbing crime of poisoning in the Jewish community. When that line was originally written, poisonings were a growing concern. And, in that "eye for an eye" era, the logical sentence for a poisoner was death.
As you may know poison was the main way to take the crown in England so clearly the book had to be changed.
Chapter I - The exposition of this Hebrue word Chasaph, wherein is answered the objection conteined in Exodus 22. to wit: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live, and of Simon Magus. Acts. 8.

(page 64) Chaspah, being a Hebrue word, is Latined Veneficium, and is in English, poisoning, or witchcraft; if you will so have it. The Hebrue sentence written in Exodus, 22. is by the 70. interpretors translated thus into Greeke, [note: I'll fill this in when I have a Greek font and more time], which in Latine is,

Veneficos (sive) veneficas non retinebitis in vita,

in English, You shall not suffer anie poisoners, or (as it is translated) witches to live. The which sentence Josephus an Hebrue borne, and a man of great estimation, learning and fame, interpreteth in this wise; Let none of the children of Israel have any poison that is deadlie, or preparted to anie hurtfull use. If anie be apprehended with such stuffe, let him be put to dfeath, and suffer that which he meant to doo to them, for whom he prepared it. The Rabbins exposition agree heerewithall. Lex Cornelia differeth not from this sense, to wit, that he must suffer to death, which either maketh, selleth, or hath anie poison, to the intent to kill anie man.

I understand you are a peace maker.
But and I am sure you understand that there is good and evil in all groups, religions whatever.....individually.

I don't need to do witchcraft.... I have better effects when I pray, and I never pray to do harm to someone, that I leave in God's hands.
I am not saying that all witchcraft is evil, but it depends on the person.
God would want you to go to him for whatever you need, and not do these things another way, especially if the source is coming from evil spirits.
It's all tricky stuff, so you must know what it is you are playing with....... that's why I stay safe with the strongest power of them all, because then I can stand against whatever is thrown at me.
I hope you understand just how I feel, I am open and understanding, perhaps to most things. And I feel that you are too, so you should understand that there is two sides to every coin:)

65th answerer...

I wonder if anybody will reads this...

Anyway...

OK, first, read about the lives of the most famous occultists in history:

http://usminc.org/famous.html

Then decide if it's worth persuing.

If there is any truth to the old saying "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.", that truth is found in the occult, and Wicca in particular. Silver Ravenwolf has written close to a dozen books on the subject of "The Craft", and claims she has been studying it since about 1969, which is almost as long as I’ve been alive. She has written a book on how to cast money spells, and includes a chapter on how to do so in her Teen Witch book. But the thing is, she doesn't particularly sound all that prosperous herself. Ravenwolf writes,

" For years I couldn't afford to go to a hair stylist (still can't, it's shop and chop for me). I got pretty good at stying my own hair from looking at magazine pictures" [SOURCE: Teen Witch, Llewellyn Publications, 2003 edition, page 145]

OK, she so rich she can't go to the hairdresser. Hey, get me a copy of that Prosperity Spell book!

Silver Ravenwolf seems to have inadvertently discovered that Wicca makes things worse, but won't ever admit it as such.
In Teen Witch she says

"A lot of people tell me how bad their lives have gotten after casting a spell and tell me they won't do Witchcraft anymore. I tell them their lives would have been much worse for not having cast the spell".

Gee Silver, you would think a lot of people would be saying things like "Hey, Silver Ravenwolf, my life has improved tremendously with Wicca!" if Wicca is as great as they claim. Instead it makes lives much worse, and even Silver Ravenwolf admits she hears this a lot!!!

Why? Because sometimes, things are just as you think they are. Most average people will tell you the occult deals with black magic and demons, and demons are evil beings who wish us harm. This is how it is my friend. The occult is evil, and brings bad happenings into a person's life, and Wicca is an occult religion. When you stop trying to rationalize it with inaccurate data and just use common sense you will realize this. Some occultists are of above average intelligence, and I think part of the problem is they have book smarts but not common sense. There are two forces at work in this universe: the counterfeit and the genuine. Wicca’s source of power is not the genuine. There’s just simply no way Wicca (and thus the copycat Neopagan religions) can be created from the black magic writings of “The Great Beast 666", the bizarre sexual practices of Gardner, the spiritual “guidance” of the Watchers (fallen angels) and still be a source of good! http://usminc.org

None of the people who have answered your question can make it work either, Don't delude yourself. It's an incredible waste of time and money, and it's spiritual poison.

Got a couple of Christians where I work. They steadfastly don't examine their thoughts about anything -- if their preacher tells them something's evil, that's enough for them, gimme that ol-time religion hallelu-ha ha ha. These are the same people that say God exists because the Bible says so and the Bible was written by God. (circular reasoning). Wicca is just on the short end of the religious power balance right now. Hey, Catholics believe in the wafer and wine ACTUALLY changing into Christ's body and blood during Communion, and in virgin birth, and in Mary being bodily taken up into heaven (though they were until 1959 deciding exactly what happened there), and any number of other improbabilities, so what they believe is so obviously skewed it makes no difference to a thinking person. Wicca's another system of beliefs, probably about as flawed as Christianity in its own ways. Believe in yourself and the power of your mind, and express it as you willl as long as it's sincere and non-hurtful, it's all beautiful. Good luck.

Hey Witchy & White tiger, I have been away! Am I too late for the popcorn? I have some Arbor Mist to go with it!
One thing has been made quite clear, Christians are AFRAID to think for themselves or to try to find out just what witchcraft is about because their Holy Book says not to, and they wouldn't want to chance it.
Can we somehow get Zoom Zoom a date with Silver? He does seem obsessed with her. Obviously since it is apparently the only book on witchcraft he has ever read.

Pangel: There is very little point asking any christian what they think of witchcraft.....especially when they can't tell the difference between a witch and a poisoner, with reference to their bible quote: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live...this referrs to poisoners...not in fact witches....bad mistranslation on the part of christians. And christians are so full of themselves and arrogantly self righteous that they would accuse their own family of heresy if they thought it would elevate their chances of getting to heaven. You will only recieve a bad press from christians with regards wicca. and if it helps you....Do As You Will, But Harm None . is the only law wiccans live by. What does that say about witches? Peace Be With You.

Well when they are young they have to go to a school called Hogwarts. Their was this famous Kid that went their named Harry Potter whose parents where killed by a bad wizard named 'He who must not be named.' (hehehehehehehe only joking)

Seriously I know that they worship trees and stuff and some even sacrifice animals. I also know that some have sacrificed very young children, but this is denied. I know that the broomstick is used as part of some form of worship. I think its some thing to do with sex but don't quote me on that. They have covens and stuff.
I also know that whether they are evil or not they are still wrong in what they worship. Jesus is the only God to be worshiped and nobody else. By the way that includes you Pangel

Some Christians won't even let their children read Harry Potter, because they are afraid that they will become witches and wizards.... lol

Forget your Wicca, - the belief that developed in Europe at the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the early modern period that some individuals are in league with the DEVIL, was actually an attack on Protestantism by the Pope.

IIn the Egyptian account of the encounter between Moses and Pharaoh, Moses appears as a practitioner of black magic and his followers as servants of an alien and abhorrent god. In the Biblical account of the same episode, the Egyptian experts who competed with Moses appear as evil sorcerers. Its a mighty big slur to call somebody a witch.

Amoungst the early church, it was initially considered a sin to accuse a neighbor of being a witch. The most influential papal bull against witchcraft was the Summis Desiderantes promulgated by Pope Innocent VIII (1432–92) in 1484. To implement this bull, he appointed regional inquisitors, of whom Heinrich Kraemer (1430?–1505?) and Johann Sprenger (1436–95), two German Dominican monks, became the most famous after they published their witch-hunting manual, the Malleus Maleficarum (The Hammer of Witches). In this text, Kraemer and Sprenger described witches as predominantly women who were in the employ of the devil.

This was conveniantly produced at a time when women in German cities with Protestant congregations, were going in buisiness for the first time. The Porn industury had a field day, woodcuts of sex which had been banned, were not re-titled, witches in action, and sold openley. The Brothers Beham went too far, with their lesbian scenes, and were thrown out of Nurenberg, but even talented artists like Hans Balding Green jumped on the bandwagon.

LOL Pangel. you brought out ALL the WIERDOS on this question. Come ON Christians, can you come up with SOLID evidence that Witchcraft is EVIL? Never mind your mindless quotes from the Bible. You're using YOUR Religion to define ANOTHER Religion, which it is unable to do as the Bible knows NOTHING about the other Religions.

FIND some FACTS, some REAL facts, not just a bunch of Hoo Haa from your Bible. WE don't BELIEVE in your Bible, we DON'T believe in your Satan, we DON"T believe that YOU ARE the "one true Religion". Yet YOU claim that WE are evil, come up with REAL facts not your superstitious crap. REAL facts meaning SHOW me how Wicca is EVIL. In spite of that ONE post where the poster CLAIMED that spells require sacrifices, I have NEVER seen a spell that required the spillling of ONE single drop of blood. So, that person was simply full of BS, and had NO idea what being a Witch is all about at all.

FACTS, people, not Religious PROPAGANDA, FACTS.

But you HAVE to rely on your propaganda because you have NO facts whatsoever. Plain and simple.

Thank you Pangel and thank you all for a tremendous read.
And here I was naively believing we've all moved on a bit over the past 500 odd years!
Someone give me a (((slap))) and bring me back to reality.
But whatever you do, don't give some of those Christians a match.

I know the witchcraft supposedly written about in the Bible has been greatly misinterpretted. Sorcery in the New Testament actually is the Greek Pharmaticea...which means drugs. The King James committee were forced to put the word Witch in the old testament. The word witch does not appear in Hebrew text.
