No, I don't think I'll be helping out this time. I read the article and found that I really like all those things that have them so upset.

What so many fail to mention is the word illegal. Those that do not respect our laws are not entitled to the benefits of our country. I resent the use of the word Hispanic when what is meant is illegal alien. My son is Hispanic & I have many relatives that are Hispanic... but they are US citizens & they obey the laws here.
Those that do not respect our laws & culture really have no reason to expect acceptance here. No other country accepts nearly as many immigrants as US does, and our culture has always welcomed those that respect the US laws & customs.
Why not work to change the laws & economic structure of these Latin American countries to allow more upward mobility to their own citizens?

"Our tactics need to be more militant - similar to the historic struggles of our Chicano and African American people. For example we should use civil disobedience, like in L.A. on Aug. 15, against the institutions and organizations who attack us and those who are against immigration reform, like the Republican Party. We should also support the economic boycott called by pro-immigrant rights groups in Arizona for Sept. 3-9. Arizona has proposed more racist state laws."
if you want to see a real revolt of the average American citizen, this will cause it.
we have immigrations laws now that are not enforced but many are demanding that they now be as the illegals have caused so much stress on our entitlements that are meant to aide our citizens with needs.
i suggest that the people who suggest this aggressive attack will do more harm than good for the people they say they represent. especially if they wave the Mexican flag will protesting. they are not covered by our Constitution, they are subject to Mexican laws..here they are plain and simple criminals.

There is no Hispanic struggle. There is an illegal immigrant struggle and that is who does not like the increased enforcement. But that is a good thing.

"We need to organize protests against the ICE raids and deportations. The ICE detention centers are full. Our people suffer horrible conditions and abuse. We must protest and demand better conditions and their release. We must support the growing religious immigrant sanctuary movement and support the students who struggle for better education and jobs.
Our tactics need to be more militant - similar to the historic struggles of our Chicano and African American people. For example we should use civil disobedience, like in L.A. on Aug. 15, against the institutions and organizations who attack us and those who are against immigration reform, like the Republican Party. We should also support the economic boycott called by pro-immigrant rights groups in Arizona for Sept. 3-9. Arizona has proposed more racist state laws.
We need to focus pressure against the congress with delegation visits from the community. We can organize mass marches like May 1 and Aug. 18 in L.A. We must develop a long range plan that includes the call for national unity of community groups and activists with a base, unity with groups in Mexico and Central America, a national conference in early 2008, building towards a great labor and economic boycott for May 1 2008. We can build the movement for immigrant rights, by applying pressure on the presidential candidates in the upcoming elections and by participating in the movement against the Iraq war.
Nothing worthwhile comes with out a struggle. There are powerful forces that are working to exploit and oppress the undocumented and to hold down all Latino people. Now is the time to strengthen our movement, to beat back the attacks on the undocumented and to promote full equality and legalization. We can and will win."
Hey, I thought I was pretty up on this stuff, but exactly what 'civil disobediance' did they commit on August 15?
In any event, this isn't the 'Hispanics' it is a radical open borders group trying to make their own issue a 'Hispanic' issue so their numbers will be larger.

These are old laws. They've been on the books forever. More money has been poured into ICE in order to attempt better enforcement. More will probably be coming. I don't care about their struggle. I want to help my own people and those from other countries who WILL obey our laws. I have no time or sympathy to waste on those who despise us and our laws. They are parasites on our society. They need to be deported.

No. Illegals are destroying opportunity for the working poor in my family. We have our own struggle and jobs which used to support whole legal families in the minority neighborhoods are now going to illegals so that the businesses can get a bigger cut.
MY family members are the ones who relied on jobs in construction, janitorial, trucking, landscaping and others that used to pay a living wage to legal citizens and used to help people pull themselves out of poverty.
By allowing illegal immigrants to take from our legal minorities, our government has plunged many many legal citizens and their families back into poverty. It's a crime and we are getting fed up with it. The murders in Newark just drove it all home quicker.
And don't make this a democrat/republican thing. I'm a democrat and I'm furious. So are many others I know.

Who do these criminals think they are? If you are here legally there is no problem(immigrant). If you are not here legally you do not have any rights. Illegals cannot vote so no matter what a politician tells you. You Do Not Count. If you can't vote for them they do not care about you.
