A ouija is any flat surface printed with letters, numbers, and other symbols, to which a planchette or movable indicator points, supposedly in answer to questions from people at a seance. The fingers of the participants are placed on the planchette that then moves about the board to spell out messages. Ouija Boards are usually spelled out as "Wee-gee". Ouija is a trademark for a talking board currently sold by Parker Brothers but the word has become a genericized trademark to refer to any talking board[citation needed]. In popular culture these boards are a spiritual gateway used to contact the dead; however, the only proof of this are the various accounts of users, which have not been scientifically proven.

First, it's spelled Ouija board and has nothing to do with food:) It's a "boardgame" where people can supposedly converse with the dead & departed. It's still kind of fun, though.

It's Ouija... NOT "weegie".

And it's for communicating with the dead. Its just superstitions though. Not many people really think they work...

Cody, I can't add anything to the previous answers. The answerers have done a good job of explaining it.

it's spelled o-u-j-i-a and they're evil. They do work as I tried one about 20 years ago. You want to invite trouble into your home then use one.

Supposedly you talk to the dead, but in reality it's demonic entities posing as the one you think you are talking to and you are opening an avenue for them to enter your life and home. STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!
