It is so annoying!!! They think it means you need to wash your face, but I wash it twice a day...so lay off!!! It's caused by hormones and genes...get it through your heads, dry skin people!!!
And look what the 2nd person put as a comment!!! Can these kinds of people go away? They're not funny!

You have overactive sebacious glands. Could be your age, hormones or food.
Avon has an affordable line of products called Clearskin but if you have a real Acne problem try Proactiv. It isn't cheap but it works.

I used to have very oily skin and acne when I was a teen up until last year, where I started to take control of it all. I actually got prescribed a birth control pill that counters the hormones that make me overproduce oil. I also try not to drink any caffeine and eat a lot less sugar (these make your body go overtime and you end up with crazy skin and moods etc). I wash my face twice a day, and moisturise.. You have to moisturise, otherwise your skin will counter, and often will overproduce to make up for the moisture it isn't getting. Drink a lot of water. - I also use mineral makeup, which is a powder that doesn't contain oils.
If you stick to this you'll see your skin feeling better, your body will feel better, and you'll be glowing in a week or two, promise!

it sucks having oily skin, i have it too. what i use is the clean & clear blotting oil sheets. I blot about twice a day. It does a really good job, and afterwards i put a cheap transluscent powder. I try not to use that much of creamy cleansers b/c that might make my skin oilier, but once in a while i do b/c i might get dry skin. Basically, just get anything thats oil free.

You can use oil free cleansers and toners. Also use an oil controlling solution on the skin. I use one by Proactive. Yes alot of people dont understand what causes it. Its not stupidity just lack of knowledge. If you wear makeup, you need to washit off at the end of the day. Dont sleep in it.

Only wash your face once a day, twice only if absolutely necessary. The more you wash your face, the more oil your skin in turn produces...because it thinks its losing too much oil and needs to make up for it.
But anyway...people probably don't think this because they don't have oily skin themselves. I don't really either but this past summer, my god, my skin was so oily!

I have combo skin. I put Milk of magenesia on my T-Zone and let it dry (10-15 minutes) then rinse it off. It makes my T-Zone pretty matte. Depedind on how oily your skin is you can use it daily-monthly. Also you can put it under make up to help keep it from melting. If you google it there is a wealth of user reviews, thoughts and uses on it
