"Pro's" for The Summit: The Pflueger Summit has an excellent gear ratio (7.1:1) for spinnerbait fishing. If your looking for a good spinnerbait/Buzzbait/topwater reel than this might be your choice. Sounds like it is a well-built reel!
"Con's" for The Summit: It's a "newly designed" reel. It may still have "bugs".That fast of a gear ratio is not conducive to fishing with soft plastic's/Worming.
"Pro's" for Shimano Curado: Shimano/Daiwa are the leading reel manufacturer's. Curado's come in various gear ratio's. Curado's have been on the "scene" long enough to have worked their "bugs" out. I ,personally, think Shimano is the finest reels made today with a few exception's.
"Con's" for Curado: The current model doesn't have "all the bells & whistles" many newer designed reels have in that price range.
"Pro's Abu Garcia": Absolutly gorgeous reel with a Swedish design. Abu Garcia is as reliable as any "top-shelf" brand-name reel, IE, Shimano/Daiwa.
"Con's for Abu Garcia": Another "newly designed" reel. Personally, I wouldn't buy a car from a company who just "changed their line" of cars.
On the other hand, sometimes "Newly designed" does make a difference in quality!
If I were you I would go for the "sure bet" and get a Shimano Curado or SAVE and buy 2 Shimano Citica's! When your buying $200+ reels you want to make sure you get a durable, smooth one! Test each one at the store before buying.
(I hope you at least get a decent rod for your $200+ reel! I suggest a G. Loomis!) lol
Hope this helps? Good luck!

Fact: A cheap spinning reel can work and cast just as well as an expensive spinning reel. But, cheap spinning reels don't have the same durability or longevity as a more expensive model. However, cheap baitcasters tend to actually hinder the progress of a novice caster. Why? Cheaper BC's have lower quality "cast control" features, horsesh*t drag systems, poorly designed gearing and, (overall) are usually made with cheaper materials- making casting not only difficult to learn, but the whole experience no fun. Why buy something you will find lacking once you master BC?? Why buy something you will end up replacing? One of the main reasons people new to bait-casting decide to give up is because they've purchase a low grade reel to learn on..... A reel is simply a tool- Would you buy a dirt cheap computer? Would you buy a dirt cheap hammer? Something to think about........Hope it helps you? Thumbs up to the other answer's.

I have several pinnacle, Bass pro shops extreme, bass master, and a Shimano Curado. The Shimano Curado is my favorite on a Falcon original 6'6" rod. And I got it for only $30 at a pawn shop.

Drop the names and pick up the reels, which one feels better in your hands? I never buy a name I buy what feels right. And then I consider what fish and areas I where I will using the reel. I never had much use for an ultralight deep sea fishing are a bass set-up while fishing for big catfish. So forget the name brand and get one in your hands before you make a choice.
