Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight is due to leave. Give yourself plenty of time to make adjustments if needed. Seat choice is important; if you like to look out the window and see get a window. Probably better though for you to get an aisle seat. Let the flight attendant know you are a first time traveller and they will understand. Pay attention to what they say and follow all instructions. Sit close to the front of the aircraft. Your travel time will be a few hours, and you may want to try to sleep. Take book and read. Buy some noise cancelling headphones; those do work well and you can listen to music on ipod or electronic. Take something to keep yourself occupied. Buy a snack after getting through security so you can take some food on the aircraft since they probably will only serve a light snack, depending on the airline. Go to the bathroom shortly before boarding so you don't have to get up once seated. Refrain from taking a oversize carry-on bag, just take a normal carry-on bag and check your other bag(s). Flight anxiouness is normal. Just have fun! Good luck. Oh, I've been flying regulary since 1980, around the world and on many foreign and domestic airlines.

I just answered a quetion like this one and this I what I said:
I love this subject! I recently went on a flight by myself and I had the same problem.
So I told myself if I worry so much I will not be able to enjoy my flight. When you get to the place your going you will have fun. Think about that not about the flight.
Try to make your flight fun because when your having fun time flies faster. Also don't sleep alot the night before so you can sleep on the plane. Sit by the window because when you take off you can see everything near and far it is so cool!
BRING LOTS OF GUM OR CHEWY THINGS FOR TAKEOFF AND LANDING.
If you don't your ears will pop and it will make your ears hurt.
Flying is fun once you get used to it. It is the safest way of travel too. So don't worry because there really is nothing to worry about.
I hope I helped

What helps me and i have traveled a lot is not to seat by a window seat...but if you must...pull the shade down....once the plane is taking off don't let your feet touch the floor of the plane and then once it's up in the air place them back down this really helps a lot....also chew gum or a candy to help you with your ears and you will be fine....you can also say a little pray it alway helps....best of luck...you will really enjoy it.

Just relax. Get a magazine. If you have an IPOD or cd player take it with you on the plain so you can listen to music. Take some sewing gum.
BWI is not a big airport. You should enjoy the experience.
Good luck. You should be fine.

..Don't worry it'll be alright:)
Trust the air crew and the captain to take care of you well, that your flight will be a good happy one (because there always are!) and just stay calm..
Check with the airport to see what you can/cant bring on the flight, and the weight you can carry of items.. Wear something comfy cauz sometimes it gets annoying.. Maybe if you want bring an iPod or something to listen to.. keep your passports or documents safe (passports not required in the nation so nvm..) and Dont lose them! or else your stuck.. lol.. well keep calm and steady, some of them have TVs and movies, and rest..

Make sure the cabin crew knows you are a first time flyer. Ask questions and read the safety information card. Pay attention during the safety demonstration and enjoy your flight!!

OK don't panic or act suspicious ! make sure u don't have any metal objects or a heavy sweat shirt or jacket on when u go through security! keep a watch on so you know what time it is ! make sure you get all your luggage before you leave the airport in Baltimore & know how many bags you have!

My daughter just traveled for the 1st time a few months ago - she's 11 & she was nervous. But when it actually took off, she thought it was so neat.
Studies have shown that it is safer to fly than be in a car.
