a Reiki practitioner can float their hand on the other persons body and tell which parts of it are ill or diseased?
Note: I can sense disease as heat (on my hands) when am practicing reiki.
Miracles? Illusions? Pure BS?

Notice I said I can feel it, not heal it. Those are two completely different things.
And if you thought I said: HEAL DISEASE, then by george, YOU are seing things lol

The particular one I felt today was an inflammation of the urinary tract of a friend. I had no idea she had it. I just felt like it was her urinary tract that was giving off heat.

Rei = Universe; Ki = Life Force; Energy. = Universal Life Force Energy.
Reiki is based upon a science of calligraphies found in the Sanskrit Sutras. This Universal Life Force is a language that, like any dialogue, produces an energy unique in vibration and frequency. The symbols are energy made physical so we can use them to communicate the frequency of the energy waves. They create a dialogue of etheric energies, that is, those energies comprising the layer of electromagnetic energy that surrounds all things. Once we learn the language of the Universal Life Force (that is, become attuned to the Reiki), we open the lines of communication.
What you are feeling, sensing is their energy, their aura. It is not necessarily dis-eased. It could just be the point of blockage, where you need to reopen the flow.
Not miracles; not illusion; not bs -- this energy is the language of our soul. You just hear it (feel it) speaking to you.

Wow, I don't know a lot about Reiki, but I know a fair amount about close-minded, supercilious, self-assured fools.
Sorry you attracted so many of the latter with your post.
It just astonishes me how a simple and sincere question like you have posted can spur so many to attack it. How can folks be so self-righteously dense?
I'm no believer. I rest in what I have confirmed empirically in my direct experience. And that insistence on immediate, intimate, empiricism has afforded me so very, very many experiences in my life that, in the words of William James, keep me from effecting "a premature closing of accounts with reality."
Congratulations on your own open-minded sensitivities, and pardon this old soul if I've ranted here too raucously.
(((( hugs here to you and Pangel and Shihan )))).

it's not _pure_ BS. as noted above, inflammation often produces heat. that could be a possible explanation. but that doesn't mean that all the other mumbo-jumbo like energy fields and so on that is associated with reiki is correct.

You can 'sense disease'? What types? Inflammation? Trauma? Infections? Viruses? Fungi?
The immune system can sense it too, and probably better than you. There's nothing odd about a diseased part becoming warmer.
The answer is No. 4 - Delusion.

there is no denying that the body has an energy field.... that much is proven
and of course there will be differences in the energy field in places where there is illness etc ...
so someone sensitive enough to feel that energy would notice these subtle differences
I hope that Reiki is looked into more in the future in a serious way

I think they are trained to be very sensitive to energy and can differentiate changes as they pass over each area of the body. I have found reiki to be very helpful.

Yeah, pure BS.
Pass the hand over your head. Do you feel "heat" from your brain showing you are being delusional?

A man can either sup at the table of God or the devil. He cannot sup at both.
You claim you can sense disease, but yet you do not know God, where do you suppose you attained this ability?
If not for God, against God.
If you are doing things that are contrary to the Word of God, then your ability is window dressing from the enemy of God, the devil.
Repent and ask God to forgive you of your sins. For death can find us at any moment. And if you die in your sins, you will spend all eternity in torment.
