yes, it's quite all right to take one of these medications before you run. This will probably prevent you from hurting so bad afterwards.
Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with Mineral Water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously. You must drink beyond your thirst to get the benefits of hydration and the real key is the Mineral Water.
I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body. One tip for athletes: it is healthier to drink a sports drink or water than fruit juice, soda, coffee, or milk during competition or active training periods.

Yes, Advil does stop pain receptors from receiving pain signals. You can also take Tylenol at the same time you take Advil, as Tylenol is processed by your liver and Advil is not. Taking them in combination is beneficial as they both block different pain receptors. My doctor has suggested 400 milligrams of Advil with 1000 milligrams of Tylenol. I'd also like to point out that the best way to avoid feeling a lot of pay is just not get into a fight.

advil and motrin are the same thing, they are both Ibuprophen. ibuprophen is good for reduceing swelling and easing pain. taking pain medicine as a precaution for possible pain during exercise could be a problem. pain is our bodies way of warning us about an injury, it causes us to stop injuring our bodies. there is a rare disorder that causes people to not feel pain. and they injure themselves all the time. so if you have a bad injury to your knee during a run and you've already taken Ibuprophen then you may not feel the pain thus causeing the injury to get worse by continueing with your run. it won't be untill the pain medicine wears off that you realize how bad you injured yourself. have a doctor check out your knees before you decide to run. perhaps take the pain meds after your run. so you don't seriously injure yourself.

Advil and Motrin can help prevent pain, but like any medication, don't abuse them. Both of those medications can ruin your kidneys if taken in higher doses than the package recommends. Most of my patients thought it couldn't happen to them, so don't fall into that category.

Advil and Motrin both contain the same pain reliever ibuprofen. So yes, you can take it but only as directed.

Usually yes, and with food too. But it depends on what problem you do have - i would suggest to see a doctor first so that you will know how long you should take those pills. Prolong use of those pills cause anemia too. So be careful.
