Bruce is right. Also, without critical thinking skills one is unable to even correctly evaluate an issue. Issues arise, critical thinking helps solve them appropriately

Critical thinking means evaluating statements to decide whether they meet standards of logic and whether they are supported by evidence. This is important when dealing with any issue, but especially hot-button issues that stir people's emotions.
