Here are some things that may help your grandma feel better.
--Get a cool compress (washcloth) and put it behind her neck and you can put another one on her eyes.
--Gentle massage. Having someone massage her neck and her scalp.
---Acupressure. She can do this herself, or you can do it. Have her point out where she is having paining and hold your finger on that spot for 30 seconds.
---Acupuncture (By a Trained Professional)
---Deep Breathing exercises and Relaxation (you can get CD's that have guided meditation)
---Seek the Assistance of a Pain Management Center
Often the use of painkillers actually increases headaches. It is known as rebound headaches. The best way to treat this is to reduce the amount of painkillers. Otherwise, it will become a vicious cycle.
Good Luck and hope Grandma feels better

Acupuncture can help, also you can use pressure points to relieve them. There are several that help with headaches.
1) temples- rub them vigorously on both sides at the same time.
2) Eyes- Push in just below the brow on the inner side of the nose.
3) flap of skin between the thumb and the pointer finger- squeeze this area deeply and strongly for at least a min.
4) Buttocks- About 3 fingers down from the hip bone, about 4 fingers out from the butt crack. Push hard as she can stand for at least a min.

all of these things help me with my head aches.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible; WORRY, spicy food, sour fruits, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, cocoanut water, salads, milk, rice and good sleep will help you. You will have to note down what suits and what not.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

You can try pinching the skin between the thumb and first finger. It works on migraines and all of my headaches. It hurts for a little while but keep doing it . I will do this myself but you probably will have to do this for your grandma.

I would try to put a cool cloth on the forehead and try to relax, or she could try some aromatherapy while taking a soothing bath.
