I know that Joyce Myers wrote a wonderful book on depressions and she had this guy on her show. They were discussing this issue that is lingering in the church. They also stated that this spirit attacks leaders and people of different backgrounds.I can not think of the guy's name, but, the name of his book is "Blue Genes".Good Luck!

These are not Christian books but secular. Do you have "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy" "The Feeling Good Handbook" and "10 Days to Great Self-Esteem" all by David D. Burns, MD? They're FANTASTIC.
I also suggest Dr Phil's "Self Matters." I know you want Christian books, but I haven't found any personally. However, these four books are wonderful, really.

So many Christian women suffer with depression. Good for you starting a support group. Just have to tell you that on January 15, 2007 Jesus healed me completely of depression and other mental illnesses. I suffered since I was a child (over 50 years). He does heal, maybe not in our time frame, but He does heal. I would suggest that you check Christian Book stores. (you probably already have).

Go to cbd.com or any other online Christian book store and search "depression". I've never read any but a lot of them have reviews. If you find one you think you would like and don't want to order online or don't have any Christian bookstores in your town any bookstore should have them or be able to order them for you.

I would try looking at the works of C.S. Lewis. He wrote much more than simply the Chronicles of Narnia and I seem to remember that he had one that spoke about depression.

Ma'am I would look for some and e-mail you later.
But I would suggest you quote the scripture for their spiritual healing...
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
There were lots of verses that would comfort your listeners...

This book was written by a Christian comedian (she's my fave), and it's about her journey through depression.

"Depression from the Christian perspective?"
Try reading all of the five books of the OT. They certainly depressed the heck outta me. Slaughter, genocide, incest, child abuse, human sacrifice, burning your daughter alive, selling your daughters into sexual slavery, rape, stoning to death your wayward son...
