All answers appreciated! I am thinking I want to write for a newspaper or for a magazine, but if i get a degree in literature or professional writing, what other career options are there?

McDonalds. Seriously, I'm not sure. You might be able to teach at the college level.

You might consider going into teaching. You can get a certificate, and teach in high school, or get your Ph.D. and go on to be a professor. As long as you have a B.A., you can always go overseas to teach conversational English in places like Korea, Japan, Taiwan. etc.

You could become a copywriter, either working in a PR or advertising agency. Alternatively, "famous author" is an excellent career choice.
