I have prayed but I still don't know.. I keep trying to appease my family, but its not working for me... They don't want me to transfer because they already spent money for one school... but i'm going crazy in this town... I want to join the military but they flip out about all the money they spent for school when I bring that up to... its like I'm stuck... I just want to get out of my hometown...

I don't think the grass i greener on the other side. A lot of people want to get out of their hometown.. both of my parents did, thats how they met and how they ended up in Cali... they joined the air force got married then got stationed at here, and it all started with them wanting to get out of their home town!

oh and I'm 21, old enough to want to get out... my parents are just giving me grief about the money they spent on college, and what classes will transfer and how long will it take me, saying if i transfer I wasted there money... but i didn't want to be here when I graduated from high school. I have two years left!

The grass is not always greener on the other side. You will find this out when you get out on your own. Thank goodness your so young and extremely smart that you know it all. When your 10 years older you will be able to look back and know just how smart you are.

Unless you want to fight a war, do not join the military. How long do you have before you graduate. I would try to transfer out of town - look on the Internet for job offerings. The best thing would be to finish your education, but if it is as bad as you say it is, it probably would be worth your change of address. Do you have money to do this, or would you rely on just luck in finding some job somewhere - this is hard to do right now also as the job market is not good. You do not tell what is going on at home, are you being abused in some way? Is it because your parents are not treating you well? Think carefully and good luck to you in any decision you make, but do be careful if you are going to move somewhere as you do not know if the situation you are getting into will really be any better than what you have now.

i agree with koalatcomics, prayer and asking for guidance is the 1st thing to do. prayer is not just a fantasy, it really does help. when i was young i got married to get out of my house and town. i did not know about prayer at that time. there are much better ways to get out of your small town than this. i don't know what your age, education, or job skills are. but if you are young, have no training and low income there are government programs that will train you for a career. one that comes to mind is job corps, i think they are in mesquite texas. wherever you are located there is probably a similar program somewhere near you. if you are presently employed, what do you do for a living? you can look on jobs.com or other job sights and see what jobs are available in other cities. my friend lived in arlington texas had put her resume online and within a week or two got a couple of calls for jobs out of town (in austin texas) she never had thought of moving b4 & it was scary. she tried to get them to pay moving expenses but they would not. she decided she wanted to make the change so she prayed and somehow pulled money together to make the move. she got a great job, found a great church home, & made lots of friends. it was good for her all around. maybe you can do something like this too?

or the military idea is not a bad one either. i had a friend who went into the army and trained to be a nurse. she was pretty happy there and when she got out continued her nursing. if you do go into the military though i hope u would not go into the army. how about the reserves or the coast guard, something that would be exciting but not as directly involved in the war? a lot of things to think about. but with pray first and every step of they way the answers will become clear and they will be the right ones too. good luck to you young lady! the world is your oyster.

It is easier to move somewhere else if you already know someone where you want to go. If not, start with the internet, of course! Check the sites for 'job search' and put anything that you are able to do and watch all the options pop up. If you find one, check out the city, too, via internet. Just enter in the city and state and everything should be there from businesses, real estate, chamber of commerce, and statistics as far as % of races, gender, age. You are lucky to be able to take off! Think of it as an exciting adventure and have fun! Good luck and let us know!
