I mean the bible says if you have the faith the size of a mustard seed you can move a mountain..

also the mind can be convinced into many things...

so if i was to tell a child from birth they could heal themselves of any cut, scrape, wound, or illness would they be able to trick there mind into healing their body?

Then there would be no mental institutions.

In Theory it would work. However, you have to remember that the child will be bombarded with images and ideas that are in direct conflict with that so the task will be difficult, especially the part where you have to find way to counter those external influences. It does come back to how strongly one can believe something. IF the child can be kept from those contradictory influences in theeir earliest years (before they start school) they should have the idea so deeply fixed in their subconscious that resisting contrary ideas will be less difficult.

I have heard many instances of the mind allowing the body to do things that it would not, or should not be able to do in times of stress and need and it is this capacity that needs to be harnesed for the healing (or any OTHER capacity) to be instilled in them.

I do this in a way with my children
if they have pain , then I speak them through removing the pain with simple visualisations
now they know how to do it themself
it works great for toothaches and tummy aches
because I believe our mind is amazing.. and children need to be taught this

this does not mean that I dont seek medical help when I feel it is needed
but for simple things .. yes of course

No. Cuts and scrapes heal naturally but if you want to stop infection, reduce scarring etc, you need to help them. Broken bones will also heal naturally but if you want to avoid deformities etc, you have to set them and splint them. If you ignore medicine completely, some people will recover from almost anything but most won't. Why lie to your children?

It's possible, but there would have to be a lot more to your parenting than that.
Your child would have to have complete trust in you. That's a rarity these days, as modern parents think their children raise themselves.

Just as long as you aren't testing God by doing it.
