Erm...ok...are you trying to make a point? That Dutch and English are somewhat similar?
It's like in Afrikaans as well, these sentences have almost the same meaning and are written (but not pronounced) identically in Afrikaans and English:
My pen was in my hand.
My hand is in warm water.

Afrikaans and Dutch are closely related. My friend who speaks Afrikaans can practically understand Dutch, even though he's never been taught it.
